Does anyone know/see what happened with camara in todays game?
He was on for 15 minutes and then just ran straight off the pitch and down the tunnel without looking back, was he actually injured??? (he certainly didnt limp off).
Did anyone see something I missed?

He was injured.

Monty gestured that Camara should be taken off immediately and the lad looked gutted as he walked down the tunnel.

Blackie said he's played his last football for the club. He's done his groin, apparently he wasn't ready but he threw him in anyway. Why risk him?

I think it was his groin, he was definately holding his groin when he first did it and tried telling the staff, with blackwell just stood screaming at him.

If you need me to.

How can fans call for Blackwell to "sort it out", claim that "injuries are no excuse" and then say he shouldn't have risked him? It beggars belief.

Cheers. I did, because I wasn't sure if the FFS was aimed at me or Blackie for playing him. :D

Well part of the reason that we have no players available and that we get pissed off with the injuries excuse has just been shown with Camara.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for Blackie if he allowed players to get fit. He took a lot of unjustified stick with Ward, bringing him back slowly.

So bringing on a player for 20 mins and risking him, leaves us with 2 strikers left for the last 6 games!

If the players aren't fit, then don't play them. Simple

Out of interest, was Camara warming up on the bike before he came on?

So he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Gets stick for doing it the Ward way, and stick for doing it the Camara way. If it was as simple as you say, we'd have had maybe 2 players on the bench.

There was no point risking him in the sense that we had a fully fit Yeates on the pitch, and replacing him with a 25% fit striker.

Very strange decision in the sense that Yeates had also had our two best chances up until that point and looked dangerous from set pieces.

Correct. But when he know's that were so badly affected with injuries, why take such risks.

I'd rather we had 3 fit subs on the bench that 7 unfit. We can only play 3 anyway.

If Blackie'd come out post match and said he couldn't fill the bench due to injuries but we'll have Camara fit for Sat then i'd be a lot happier.

Surely it'd be better to stick to the same policy that he used for Ward and use Ward's come back as proof that the Ward way worked.

Well, that's assuming Yeates was 100% fit. But yeah, I agree with you that he was looking like our most likely outlet. Still, Blackwell tried to mix it up, add some (well-needed, IMO) pace to the attack. He tried to "sort it out" (back to my original point) and it didn't work. So again he's the bad guy.

And also, SwissBlade. Wasn't today our final game of the season, pretty much? Shit or bust? Losing 1-0 in a must win game, if you've got a 25% fit striker on that might just make the difference, is it really such a massive fuck-up to try it?

Yeates was not fully fit. He's been carrying an injury for a while but needs must. He failed a fitness test before Wednesdays match but had to play 30 mins, as did Williamson.
If we only played fully fit players we'd have had no subs!! (Connolly, Bartley, Yeates, Hendo, Camara, Little & Williamson were all carrying knocks)

he was a lot fitter than Camara ;) And he looked visibly dissapointed to be taken off when he was. I'd wager he'd have completed the 90 easily enough.

Was it? 7 games to go we needed to keep up with the play off pack. I'd have said mustn't lose rather than must win, but thats mere detail.

Assuming that as you said, it was a must win. Would I risk a 25% fit striker when we have another 6 games after this one - No

Would I risk him if it was the play off final and he had a full preseason ahead of him - yes

The key for me today was that even with a defeat, we're not mathmatically out of the chance of the play off's, only today I read Simonson talking about waiting for the play off contenders to wobble and we can capitalise.

With 2 fit strikers, probably for the rest of the season we make things more difficult for ourselves

Playing a bottom club like Donny I would have thought an unfit player would have been rested until saturday. If blackwell has said that was Camara's last game for United he won't be renewing his contract next season.
Too bad I would have liked to have seen him have a go at the uncleans defense.

I think to some extent, we've brought some of the problems regards injuries on ourselves.

We have gone out and brought in a number of crocks.

Camara is alwyas injured.

Willo plays two, out two

Harper the same.

If there's one thing I take on board what that chairman over at the unclean said it was that they now actively seek players with reletively injury free track records.

No one can forsee a serious injury on the horizon, but certain players seem to have a history of them and it does no one any good. We could have 3 of the best players in the world, but if they are always injured, they're no good to anyone.

Henri Camera

apologies if this has already been mentioned, but what was the reason for camera coming off against scunny after being on the pitch for 10mins or so. he appeared to just walk off the pitch in anger but my first assumption was he waas injured. can anyone clarify this for me please?

He was injured and, according to Radio Sheffield, won't play for us again

Sheffield United striker Henri Camara has played his last game for the club after limping out of the defeat to Scunthorpe.
The 32-year-old only joined the Blades on a short-term deal until the end of the season back in October to help ease their injury problems.
He has scored four goals in 23 appearances but suffered a recurrence of a groin problem in Sunday's 1-0 loss.
And manager Kevin Blackwell

has admitted that he will not recover in time to play any further part in the club's fight for promotion.
"Although Henri Camara

came on from the bench he has now played his last football for the club," said Blackwell.
"We needed to throw him in. He showed a spark in his 25 minutes but the same groin went again and it will be the end of the season before it heals."
