There seems to be no news of him going on loan elsewhere which could suggest that he is going to be part of the 1st team squad for the rest of the season

Possibly waiting for the best move possible.

I know you can go on loan after the end of January to the National League

Loan him to Ipswich. They need some decent defenders and if he can make a difference there then we'll know he's decent.
