What is the point of this thread?

There's not even the pretence of a constructive thread......if there's a reason to post then back it up with a tad more than 'He's shit!' Add some worthwhile comment, describe why you have no faith in a player's capability, but purleeeeeeze..........less of the pithy condemnation and far more of an intelligent and helpful appraisal of why you dislike a player.

Ah, those ol' good days, Our Chris could go on and break the bank & make Callum the record signing at the time, then having played him few times decides the guy didn't fit our system. I so wish we'd be in the same position yet again, spilling cash all over and recruiting some more record signings, give them few games to prove if they fit into our system, then discard them for players who haven't even made it to their respective Championship teams. Feeling so nostalgic about those days... Well, let the bygones be bygones. After all, this is a club seemingly being able to spill out millions on players we don't use nor need (Robinson, Freeman). We desperately need some record breaking signings that don't fit our system, don't we?
 
He’s not even our player anymore, so who cares?

Way this thread started I thought WBA were winning 8-0 and he'd bagged every single one.

I went to most of our preseasons last year and he looked like the buy of the summer. There was a lot of hype around him preseason because he looked genuinely decent in every game.

The problem was, he just couldn't do it against Premier League defenders. He was brushed off the ball to easy and looked weak (although of course, he was played out of position too).

I think of Wilder's best attributes is how quickly he changes things when it's not working out. I can see 100% why Robinson was originally bought, and I also see 100% why he was shipped out.

Nothing against the lad, his face just didn't fit.

No disrespect, and I may well be wrong here, but my understanding is that you're not a professional scout? And that really was one hecking big a problem, that he couldn't - nor can - do it against PL defenders. Was it the Prince who demanded that he'd be signed? Otherwise, it was very, very wank/awful business. Just as it was with L. Freeman.

No, you're not. I'd make the worst manager there is, or thereabouts. I presume that you think that it's okay for Wilder to break the bank and make two subsequent club record breaking signings, the ditch them just like that, and you still think that Wilder is absolutely the greatest ever man or manager ever having lived on this earth? And I assume it pisses you off if someone does as much as suggest that he may, just may sometimes make mistakes, too.
 
I was merely just suggesting that potentially maybe we didn’t give him a fair crack of the whip playing him away at Manchester City away and games like that isn’t particularly a good chance for a striker to showcase his skills


He can’t be that shit as he is leading the line at WBA in a premier league team who has scored 2 away at Everton

And currently we do need strikers so it would be daft to ship him off to one of the 10 teams along with us who will be scrapping for survival

See David unsworth who assisted our first goal of The season Then scored the penalty for Wigan which sent us down 🤪🤪

If not, I respectfully disagree. Ineffective is a word that doesn't come anywhere near to describing him.

Hes no worldbeater

But you can’t say he’s useless etc...

He made about 5 starts most of those away games like Man City

He also was nowhere near fully fit the start of last season

Don’t forget he was our best player by a mile last season In pre season

Not saying he would come in and score 10/15 goals but to let him go especially to our direct rival is a mistake when we have effectively 2 strikers who are good enough
