Letting him go would be insane, you have literally taken away the whole goals and assist pretty much (apart from burrows and bamford) from last season and haven’t replaced and probably won’t.

He’s arguably the only reason to play 4-2-3-1 now.

Unless you move BBD or Chong into the 10 role, you could argue then the remaining staff lend themselves more to a simple 4-4-2; Donovan and BBD out wide and then perm 2 from Bamford, Oné, Cannon and Campbell. Alternatively 3-5-2 with two out and out forward players.

Who else could fill in for him? Peck perhaps? Arblaster? I think Peck played further forward when he came through.

If he went I’d imagine Chris Wilder might ditch the idea of a 10 entirely and get a big target man.

Other thing is, what price would make you sell? If someone offered 10m then it would be hard to turn down.

If someone offered 5m I think we’d be knocking it back. How much do you reckon would be simply too compelling?

It's all profit V's what we paid, but still, £5M feel low for his position, skill set and contract length. £7.5M/£8M okay, talk, £10M, where do we sign?

However, there better be an agent on speed dial, this late in the window, with a ready made replacement.

Could this be a position for a highly rated PL loan? With a decent fee incoming, maybe being able to pay more of the wage for a PL Wonderkid would make us a more appealing destination for the Parent Club?

I’m on the fence a bit. On one side, he’s one of our best players and it’s yet another talent we’d be letting go and more than likely, downgrading on.

On the flip side, if we can get good money for him now, we should. He’ll otherwise have one year left on his deal and be sold on the relative cheap next summer, something we’ve been doing way too much of in recent years (Ndiaye, Berge, Bogle, Anel, Brooks and Hamer). It’s probably our last chance to get good money for him.

I guess on balance I am less bothered about him leaving as it makes good business sense for the right price. I am more concerned with what’d be next. Who do we bring in? Where’s our next pipeline of saleable assets/players that can grow with us? If we can’t address that side of the equation than the first part becomes irrelevant over the medium/long-term.

The only way im happy with losing O'Hare is 8m+ which is directly put back into the team to bring in Reyes Cleary and another decent winger with good potential.

I'm not against selling O'Hare, or any player for that matter... there has to be a replacement plan though.

We've already sold Brooks and Hamer. Lose O'Hare and I'm struggling to see a goal threat.

Seriki is sounding like a longer term injury. Choudhury and McCallum aren't exactly flying full backs.

Teams that can't score goals end up in relegation battles.

I can’t see it can you?

And you know what, I think this season it’s a trade off. They’re trying to get some experienced pros in to make sure we stay up.

However, it’s going to harm the club in the long run.

We are now no longer a parachute club, so we don’t have a financial advantage anymore. Non-parachute clubs are reliant on finding players that either come in on the cheap and impact the first team enough to take them up OR make a big profit on so they can help support the club and sign the next batch of players at the same time.

We are signing players and assembling a squad that’ll will do neither of those things. We won’t be good enough to go up and no one we are bringing in will go on and provide us with a profit because their best days are behind them.

Wolves fans said Doherty’s legs had gone, he was slow and unavailable. He plays 60 odd minutes against Blackburn, isn’t able to start the next game in Seikis absence which forces us to chuck an inexperienced young lad in out of position. We then have to go out and look for another right back - so we go after a 28 year old defensive midfielder who Leicester can’t wait to give away, so he’ll never make us owt either.

if they’d come out and said ‘we are now no longer a parachute club, we need to cut our cloth and work on a 2/3/4 year plan’ and proceeded to look at young players, with high ceiling and potential re-sale value then I think a lot of the fans would have been slightly disappointed but see the bigger picture and been patient and reluctantly accepted 2/3 season of mediocrity for the greater good. We just don’t seem to have a plan for anything beyond this season
