Who’s making £10m up? It looks like a rumour of ‘interest’ ie someone’s making stuff up for content more than a proper rumour.

Southampton are teetering on the edge a bit financially aren’t they? I shouldn’t think they’d be bidding much for anyone or offering wage increases to someone who’s probably one of our bigger earners (I’m basing that mainly on him arriving on a free as a sought after player).

Nah you're not alone.

He runs about a LOT.
That masks a lot of his shortcomings. His energy/pressing is excellent, it's his stand out quality.

Like you said though, he's slow, weak and end product is missing a hell of a lot.
£10 million for someone as limited as he is, would be a great deal on our behalf.

Player of the season in a god awful season isn't much to brag about. Just one of the best of a bad bunch. I'd have personally said Brooks was better last season, but that's just my opinion.

Won't worry about it until any form of actual progress has been made, it's funny they are "looking to strengthen their number 10 position" and he happens to have our number 10 shirt. The rumour could easily have been (visit's 'Boro's website) Delano Burgzorg has been identified.... One of the articles from their owner https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4g8gkre4exo says "they are under no pressure to sell" and "I think we have a very capable scouting team, and we are monitoring a huge number of players." Plus the source has failed to find a recent picture of O'Hare. The problem they have got which we need to take advantage of if they did decide to come after him, is 1) He is our player 2) We have him for another 2 seasons 3) They start with a points deduction next season and 4) It's their last year of parachute money, if they don't go up next season. Taking that into account, it's a very much their problem not ours, you want him you pay an inflated fee.

I think he flatters to deceive at times. I like him and his work rate is excellent but tempered by the fact he's small, weak and not brilliant technically for a '10'.

COH 8 goals 7 assists so 15 goal involvements in a team that don’t get him in the positions hes most effective in plus his work rate and attitude…

COH for me is first on the teamsheet every time. He plays we generally are so much better than when he doesn't play. His non stop running ,harrying,disruption he causes goes overlooked by many. Great little player definitely do not want to lose, in that Southampton team he would be incredible -please lets not see it.

That's a very low bar to reach in fairness.

But its the bar we have, if he goes who plays his position. Not only does he create but his work rate and availability is second to none. Imagine Campbell ambling around in that position or Cannon...infact you dont have to we've seen what they are like !

It would be great too but we are going to be in this league for a while now until we can get a settled squad and management (by the sounds of it), solid capable championship players are what we need, we have to remind ourselves of the budget constraints we do have and accept the fact we aren't favourites anymore. Based on who is in the league next season it could go one of a few ways but the likely situation is we will do well to get top 8, it all depends on whether Burnley have to reduce their squad or one of the other relegated sides don't get off to a good start. We need to get back our mental resilience as that has been lacking over the last few years. When we go 1-0 up, under Wilder Mk1 and Hecky I was confident we would go 2-0 up or even see the game out but recently we get nervous and bottle it.

I don't personally see this, I don't think he improves Southampton based on what they've currently got. It would be a shame to lose him, but I'm not sure Wilder would be completely devastated.
