Will be interesting to see how Wilder plans to make use of them both.

When Coventry beat us 4-1 in 21/22, they played this team:

In 2022/23 we beat this side 3-1:

O'Hare suffered an ACL injury after ten minutes of this match.

Anyway, Coventry seemed to use Hamer most of the time as a part of a central midfield duo. O'Hare played as a number 10 behind two strikers, or as one of two number 10s behind a lone striker.

Since Hamer signed we've been reluctant to play Hamer in a central duo. Most of the time he's been the right sided midfielder in a trio, and he's probably had more freedom to bomb forward than he had at Coventry. This meant his goals and assist stats were similar for us in the PL to what he managed for Coventry in the Championship.

At York we played 4-2-3-1, but Hamer was injured. I assume O'Hare will be first choice as the central attacking midfielder.

Two questions:

  • What do we do with Hamer? Will we play him deeper alongside Arblaster in a role similar to the one he had at Coventry? Or will we try to make use of his attacking qualities and find a role for him as one of the wide attacking midfielders?

  • I enjoyed watching O'Hare's youtube video. It looks like he'll thrive if we manage to surround him with lots of pace and movement. How do we get enough of that into our line up?

Best 2 signings in along time in keefe and ohare.
The midfield now looks brilliant and very attack minded .

A four year deal at £30k per week with a £1m signing fee is the same as a £4m signing on £15k per week.

It doesn't really matter anyway, he'll have a low-ish non-promotion release clause.

Signing on fee was 2m plus a neck brace.
Doesn't matter how good O'Hare is on the ground wilder will have the ball hoofed over his head anyway, it's the Sheffield way.
Might be the Wilder way, but it's got us quite a few promotions recently - must have missed your prem games last couple of years

If he is as good as his dad then he'll be a legend at the end of his career here. For young uns, dad is John OHare ex Derby County in the late 60's early 70's.
Met John at the city ground a few years ago when we played em - lovely bloke and said some nice things about our club and our players back in the day

The difference is not having to pay £4m immediately. Wages been spread over the contract. For FFP if we sell him it will be all profit.

Tell me you've never watched a Wilder team without telling me you've never watched a Wilder team. He'll be receiving passes in your box from our centre backs 😜.

When I think of John O'Hare I keep hearing Hugh Johns...ask you Dad!!

You just want to be us, the amount of players you've had off us over the years ,you might as well just come and watched them play for us.

Thankfully, I've never been "sent to Coventry" 😜🤣. Hamer and O'Hare did and they couldn't wait to get out. "

On a free from Cov-en-try he cost us fucking zero"...
