21 year old winger from Oxford, scored 10 goals last season to help get Oxford promoted from league 2 and just got his first cap for Republic or Ireland. Still has 2 years left on his contract, would be a great signing.

Saw him a few times last season and impressed despite not being the quickest. Quite tall for a left winger and decent in the air and has good delivery but his age and contract status will put him out of our reach. Interest in him from the Champ and lower Prem apparently although I think he'll stay at Oxford for another season.

It was well publicised in January that Derby were after him for circa £1m.

In which case, realistically he's well out of our league. But he shouldn't be.

How much did Wigan pay for Grigg?

If only we'd not spunked £2m on a right back.

More likely to get Chris Taylor than this guy. Since Bury seem to be in financial trouble Danny Mayor would be a more realistic option but would still cost maybe £500,000.

Looks like another one we've missed out on.. says alot about Enda's future at the club tho...

Jesus christ, god help us if this is the level we are shopping at. Mediocre is an understatement

I can't see why we'd go in for him either unless they were planning to play him in the number 10 role but the fact Bristol released him doesn't make me feel gutted that he's joined someone else, if we were ever in for him. If we were then the location of Cardiff close to Bristol will surely have been a factor.

Recruitment team have had since January to scout the whole of the English Football League and maybe up in Scotland too and if they’re feeling like they want to earn their money then possibly abroad too…. And the best they come up with is O’Dowda… honestly get them f*ckers out of this club.

A bit of a surprise that Utd were linked as I'm not sure how he'd fit into the formation as he tends to play in a more traditional Left Mid role, unless PH is considering options. He has suffered a few injuries and only played about half of BCFC's games last season. However, contrary to what some on here feel, he is no mug and 20+ caps for RoI.

More of an insight than ITK but I occasionally see his IFA as he lives nearby - he probably doesn't know the details of Utd's offer but he mentioned the decision to go to Cardiff was money and location based.

I think the location of Cardiff to Bristol will definitely be a factor. I mean with all due respect to Cardiff, but I can't see that being his best offer club wise as Cardiff had a very indifferent season and are basically skint and with a novice manager, unless they sign Bale I'd say Cardiff will be fighting relegation next season. If we were interested then he should have come to us, we're a much better team than Cardiff, but if he wants to be near his family/not uproot his family that's totally understandable.

ODowda is an Oxfordshire lad so it's very unlikely he chose Cardiff due to location. Doubt we were ever in for him as we dont do tricky wingers

How positive were you when we signed MGW ?

Well unless he fancies playing L1 there aren't many options in Oxfordshire. If his other options were indeed Swansea and Utd, then Cardiff is the nearest club

He already did Oxford, does anyone actually think location is anywhere.near the top of the list when a pro footballer chooses what club to play for? Unless of course more important factors such as money, club size, opportunity to play, are all pretty equal

He's way way below the standard of player we should be looking at if we're serious about attempting promotion next season. Can't believe so many Blades are getting their frilly knickers about missing out on him.

Also same with Lenihan. Unless Egan moves on he would have been an expensive bench warmer and we've had enough of those this season.

For young players I agree but with older ones with children the location becomes more important.
So many players autobiographies highlight this and the breakdown of relationships.
