Just wanted to let fellow Blades know of the sad death of my dear brother in law Byron from COVID in Rotherham Hospital yesterday morning.
A truly, lovely, mild mannered, thoughtful and kind guy who grew up in Dronfield and was a season ticket holder for 50+ years, sitting on the Kop with his son Rob and great friends John Whiteley and Mick Biggin.
His caring nature, incredible knowledge and wonderful sense of humour will be missed by us all - we are all absolutely broken by this sudden, unexpected passing just before Christmas.
Take care fellow Blades this dreadful Virus is real and can wipe out the healthy ! Not just OAPs in care homes.

Very sad news ceasefire, condolences to all of your family

RIP Byron

Sorry for your loss Ceasefire, condolences to you and yours.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like a good person, leaving an empty space in his family and on the Kop. RIP

Condolences to his family. Keep banging the Covid drum. It is real. R.I.P.

RIP Blade, hate reading things like this.

Keep strong buddy xx

Condolences to all concerned.

RIP Byron the Blade.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. We are all broken at the moment. If there is one message I can firmly reiterate and I like many was of the opinion that this virus would never affect me or my family. In the last 3 months we have lost 2 immediate members to this dreadful virus.
