I can't believe we're actually 6th in the league. This division is awful and we're contributing to it of late, any other season I'd expect us to be lower mid-table, but everyone is as bad as eachother.

Pre Walker & Morgan being unavailable I'd have felt confident of us grafting out enough points to be just a bit less worse than the teams around us but with a completely foreign (not in the nationality sense) back four I fear we may fall short this season.

Birch's interview was a good one but not in anyway inspiring or made me feel excited. Not his fault, just the way things are, McCabe isn't going to put a penny more in, future sales will be generated back to fund the wage budget which will be slashed further if we don't go up.

Team for Saturday

GK Bunny
LB Kallio
CB Fortune
CB Nossy
RB Geary
LM Ward
CM Monty
CM Harper
RM Ward
CF Chedster
CF Cresswell

Not confident with that team, too many new players who haven't settled yet, please prove me wrong Blades and give me that clapping sensation back in my hands.

Jamie Ward, so good they etc etc etc

Birch's interview was good, in your opinion Santos.

To me, and I've seen it before, he sounded like a bloke who's just been told by the bank manager that you no longer run a viable business so get it sorted very quick or else.

Too attacking?

That may be the case, what I mean by 'good' is in terms of him being honest and blunt - I think he was exactly that.

In a strange way I'm actually looking forward to our wages being in line with a middling Championship club, it may make things a bit more pure. For instance, I remember us going down to QPR in 2000 and winning 3-1 and for the first time in the season being in 6th place, I remember the elation and promise that that one weeks top 6 finish made us all feel with grafters like Santos, Murphy, Devlin and Jaffo. Currently we're 6th with a wage budget higher than everyone except the Parachute clubs and couldn't be more unhappy in many regards.

Can't say It looks drastically better or worse than my team Bergen. The one thing I'd say is Stewart is a very poor player defensively and i'd rather we had to risk creaky knees Fortune at CB and move Kallio out to LB. Although I accept with no knees Geary that leaves us quite exposed.

Subs: Bennett, Stewart, Williamson, Quinn, Evans, Cresswell, France

Not necessarily the side i want, but the one i think he'll pick

Why would you consider that to be too attacking Bergs?

I asked my Wendy supporting workmates if they thought 50 points would be enough to guarantee safety. They and I agree that 50 points probably wont be enough for safety (Millwall went down with 52 points in 1996- only 19 points behind Leicester who finished in 6th place) and we also think that the points gap between third bottom and 6th place for end of this season will be narrower than average

Agreed completely.

I think 52/53 at the bottom and 71/72 for the Play Offs.

i agree with your opinions mate...well founded

all i would add is that we are all obviously blades daft and given the current circumstances now is the time to get behind whatever team runs out on saturday.
for me allthough at the moment times are a bit shit, this is the time we should pull together stick 2 fingers up to the rest of football and just be proud to be blades :)

Proud to be a blade
I'm embarrassed
Top wages paid outside the relegated prem team and they're shite

Why would you consider that to be too attacking Bergs?

I have no confidence in my own suggestions! :)

It includes two strikers, two wingers, two central midfielders who are both better going forward than defensively, and the full backs likes to go forward as well. I think it's very attacking, but worth a try.

It's the paciest line up we have, two attacking players with pace is always a minimum for me. In midfield it's got two players who are comfortable on the ball, which may be needed to make use of the added pace, width and movement.

As a slight compensation for the lack of solidity in midfield I've also gone for pace at the back. The line up is set up to attack and if they hit us on the break, I'd want players who can keep up with them.

Rather than grinding out a result, a really positive performance could perhaps have given us a much needed lift?

Change "could perhaps" to "would", and take away the question mark, and you have a sentence I wouldn't argue with.

Our backs are to the wall with no Walker and Morgs. Don't fanny around trying to bore the bastards into submission. Attack the sheep shaggers and let's batter them.
How much more positive would it be on here Monday, if we did that?
