Buy back clauses

Without meaning to patronise; a buy back clause is limited to the club selling the player (Barca use this a lot). A buy out clause (similar to a minimum fee release) is the point at which the player's contract is rescinded. The whole fee has to be remitted to the La Liga HQ - that's what happened when PSG bought Neymar (€222m!) and when Chelsea bought Kepa (€80m). Barca got stung big time with the Neymar transfer which is why the fees are now set so high - Dest is a high potential rightback but his release fee is €400m!

Not if you’ve spent a fortune on maintaining / improving the property, the sale makes you homeless and it would cost 3 times as much to buy a replacement.

I don't think we should be worried about any buy-back clause, assuming the figure is reasonable.

In fact, we should be insisting on including buy-back clauses when selling players to teams below us in the pyramid too.
