Burton Fans View on Mark Duffy

I don't understand why not? They're not going to miraculously become better in the air, quicker at running, or even much better technically (bear in mind these lads are 28-30 so in their prime now). I actually think it's rare that these "views from" don't give a very accurate foresight on how they players/managers departing end up performing for us.

Simply that I prefer to form my own opinions...

I wonder what utter, unmitigated bollocks would have appeared in an S2 'view from' on that music hall comedy duo Monty and Koz?....and what a surprise, nay shock, the fans of the new clubs would have got, eh?

Doesn't take that long to be fair but I appreciate the comments. If people don't wanna read it I'm not sure why they opened the thread in the first place :)

If they didn't do that they'd have one fewer thing to moan about.

FWIW I enjoy these threads. Cheers Roy

That's fair enough, I think we all like to make our own minds up, but to actively open up one of these threads and lambast it seems a bit much, it's obvious he's taken time out to put it together and others appreciate it. And also, it's early summer and really the only thing left to talk about is incomings/outgoings, season ticket sales and kit releases. Reading other fans' views on our incomings tends to be our only solid source of indicator as to what we're getting, particularly at this level where we could rarely name half the opposititions' starting line ups.

As an aside it's rare I see many lads at this level massively stand out consistently against us, but I agree with the one fella on here who keeps banging on about Yaser Kasim, think he looks a cut above, would love us to sign him.

Roy spends a lot of time and effort in collating fans view for the forum , which are both interesting and informative . Yes we all make up our own opinions , which makes football a love / hate sport.

Give Roy some respect Pinchy , he deserves it.

UTB

Roy, I respect you. The features you do are interesting and worth a read. Not least the amusement value of directly contradictory opinions from the same 'fans'.

I simply caution against taking anything the particular fans say to heart. Better to condition your own opinion by actually watching the fella in action...

“Duffy spent the last 10 or so games giving the ball to the opposition and holding on to the ball too long.”

clough making his mark.

"How to Encouragement" from The Nigel Clough school of Management. The course was endorsed by Gary Megson.

Has anyone got this interview from Clough?! I'm sure its priceless! They'er dooooooooooooomed next season under Clough.

I look forward to reading this Roy, just like I enjoy Deadbat's match reports and ratings, because even though I attend the game, it's interesting to see how others viewed it, etc.

For your "a view from", last season, it was grim reading at times, because it struck a raw nerve. Fans saying how their team would be too much for us, and was often the case. After the game, Fans saying how weak we looked, slow, no passion, how easy we were to beat.

I expect a totally different reading experience this year, with Chris Wilder's Battling Blades

This always amuses me.
Like the guys who open threads entitled "Interview with..." And then say "I CAN'T STAND LISTENING/HEARING ABOUT THIS GUY'S INTERVIEWS".

So if something you disagreed with happened, and e.g you saw a thread entitled "McCabe prevents further signings", you would neither open nor comment your opinion on it?

If there was a thread entitled "How to eat oranges" and I really really disliked oranges, I would probably just not open the thread.

The point's an obvious one.

You can always answer the question - would you?

Don't know why anyone engages him
He's just an attention seeker

I wouldn't open multiple threads all with the same title commenting on my dislike of oranges, no.
Would you open a thread entitled "McCabe prevents further signings", and comment your opinion on it?

Simple one. Yes/no.

Paul Weller doesn't know.....

The Modfather?

An entirely different prospect to my very obvious point and not something I'm continuing to discuss as it's that much of an obvious point.

If the point isn't obvious to you, then get someone to explain it to you.

Am I going to have to spoon feed it you?

Well i suppose it was too much to ask........i actually opened this thread to see what Burton fans thought of Duffy, and the ensuing discussion on it. Silly me.

Can we have a new section on the forum please that is titled "Handbags" ??

I think Pete has explained why your example is misleading. Quite why you want to 'spoon feed' someone who makes it clear that your misleading example is bollocks, I can't understand.

'An interview with..' is simple and clear.

Your example of 'McCabe prevents further signings' is obviously a much more complex thread hence Pete's comments but I think you probably know that.

What about shoving your spoon somewhere where the sun doesn't shine?

The fact that it takes two of you to get the point across is probably a good indication you're having trouble.

Nail on the head again.

Once again the legendary Barney wins the 'Barney v The Rest of the World' challenge.

Fantastic idea and much more a topic for conversation than some sweaty footballing types.

I like the Gucci ones but with the shorter strap and the secret inner pocket.

Radley is where it's at.

I agree. I feel that my knowledge of handbags is very limited and sometimes hinders the sort of in depth conversation my wife craves on the subject.

Pete vs Barney

... this time, it's personal!

Oh wait, my mistake, it's always personal. :D

Without looking though the usual Pete Barney love fest, I wonder how many assists and goals were prior to Clough joining Burton. Everything is going to be quick quick quick with us so I doubt he's going to need to come back on himself waiting for a Clough style midfield and forward line to get in the box.
