Wilder dont like burrows because he is too attacking and it has been brainwashed into our fans that he can't defend

Burrows is a top LB for the level and its rather baffling how he isnt a regular starter mcallum has done well but burrows is miles better

No dount wilder has a 30+ ex prem player line dup to replace him or even better play RND all season because he played well for 45 mins againast blackburn kids

You clearly need to go to Specsavers based on the first two paragraphs.....

I have seen many stupid, ill informed posts over the years.
This is right up there.

Slagging Wilder off for no reason is pointless. Burrows was massively out of form last season; every one of us could see it. Wilder replaced him with McCallum, who had a far better season in comparison until his injury. The season before Burrows pretty much started every game

Since then, Burrows picked up an injury in pre‑season, so he started the first game on the bench, started the second, and was then rested against Blackburn. I've no idea why you think Wilder doesn't like Burrows there's no evidence of that

Be a shame to see him go. He was one of the players I felt heralded a good direction about our recruitment - Best of the league below, young, good sell-on potential. I suppose, if he goes, it's just the natural order of things. He's realising that feature so many people list as important. His sell-on potential. With that in mind, we need to be making money on the deal. He's now got almost 100 Championship games on his CV, has continued the trend of a goal every 9 games(ish)* and has shown himself to be robust enough to sustain his presence in one of the toughest leagues there is.

Needs to go for £10M+ for me.

This, this, this.

Burrows represented hope that we were getting recruitment right again, and back on track. Effective, promising young players from the league below but ready to start and make an impact.

As things stand, I can understand him going for the right price. But given his quality, and given how slow and shite are recruitment team are, I'm reluctant to see him go and would rather we fashion him into the LW replacement now.

Maybe he's just injured and our fans are reading more into his absence? He's had injury issues this does season.

I don't think he can defend against the better attackers in this league unless were playing a low block. He wasn't helped with Gus in front of him mond. For me he doesn't get tight enough to the winger to stop the cross but he's not alone in that.

If he is off my guess would be to Birmingham who wanted him when he joined us instead. Chris Davies was the Birmingham manager then too.

West ham selling Diouf to Brentford so this might be the reason he wasn't played.

I’ve just seen that Westham have sold their left back I’m gonna guess that they will make a bid for Burrows I wouldn’t blame him for going and it makes sense why we have RND starting games

I'm guessing that Burrows may have said to his agent to ruffle a few feathers for a move because I'd imagine Burrows won't want to be back up again this season and he'll probably know that McCullam is likely to be first choice again.

Wilder doesn't tolerate players wanting a move so I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. If course could be total rubbish and he's just got a knock!

We saw the worst of RND when he was played at centre back.
He seems to have got his mojo back and had a decent, if unspectucalur loan spell last season.
If we can get a good fee for Burrows, who will likely be second choice this season, which then allows us to prioritise other areas (LEFT WING) then I'm all for this.

Do not like us getting rid of players who actually contribute to us scoring goals.
Despite being largely poor last season he still chipped in with 5 goals, 4 assists. The same total contribution as Brooks who was one of our best players

If we lost him that would be:
Hamer: 5G 13A
Brooks: 6G 3A
Burrows: 5G 4A
All out the door and not adequately replaced.

Worst case scenario we keep RND for the season and look for a new LB next summer to backup McCallum
Both out of contract next summer as well, I believe. Would like to see Mcglinchey out on loan this year with a view to being in the first team squad next season, hear a lot of good things about him

I often think that way too.

You could argue they won’t all be lost. Moments of individual brilliance yes, but for example, Rothwell is probably as good if not better in corners than both.

No saying now he has one that Donovan won’t go on to surpass what Brooks would contribute.

Hamer is the difficult one.

But he’s also agree that form the money all lens, if you’re removing goals you have to get them back somehow.

It's a shit price for a player that's improved since we brought him in unless it's like £8m>

Think we paid neck end of £4m for him from Peterborough for someone who had played four out of the five seasons at League 1.

I’d hope for £7-£8m for him at least and additional fees beyond that.

I think Peterborough have a decent sell‑on clause in place as well, so whatever fee we get will have to factor that in.

It’s really disappointing to lose Burrows; there aren’t many goal‑scoring full‑backs around.

Losing players of this type, with no sign of us being able to replace them beyond loans and frees, is genuinely worrying. There aren’t many Championship clubs operating with a kitty as limited as ours.

I'm not suggesting its not worrying, but, how many of those Goals and Assists are double counted in those numbers?

Written like that it suggests we'd have lost 36 goals/assists between 3 players but Burrows 5 goals could all have been assisted by Hamer - if you get what i mean?

Why £5m. WH want £30m for their LB. Play hard ball for £10-15m or as you say keep him if it’s only £5m in. Why do we think it’s good business to sell 3 players to raise £20m, bank £15m and spunk £5m on a couple of projects and crocked journeymen?
I like your logic.

If the person buying my house sells theirs for £1m , I should ask for £500k even though its worth £250k.
If they wont accept I'll keep it and have an extra house I dont need.

😉.

Selling players profitably isn't such a common opportunity

If we can get a decent profit then we should sell

Losing him is more likely to be the difference between 11th and 12th rather than 2nd and 3rd

If he has a season as backup to McCallum what's he worth at the end of it with a year on his contract?
