But the poster wasn't comparing their record to ours, so pointless reply!Burnley have had 9 years in the PL in the last 15 years.

Didn't see the incidents until today on here, but something has to be done before a player/ official/ manager is assaulted or injured. Our players should just get off the field straight away, in this case prevented by the positioning of the tunnel maybe, but looking at our own home matches, why do we have to do a lap of honour after every game, even after losing?, eventually some away supporters will take offence at it , thinking we're baiting them and run on the field, there are some idiots around waiting for a time and place so don't do it. Likewise I've said before, why let both sets of fans out at the same time, whereby we have to walk down Bramall Lane through away supporters coming out of their stand, why can't the police keep them in for 15 minutes?, surely that would make it easier to cope witn
To be fair, the transfer ban was for not submitting the accounts on time, not for overspending. We can't overspend because the owners have taken so much money out of the club that there's nothing left to overspend with!Poor stewarding from Burnley for sure. Those goading players should be banned but probably won't.
On the whole though no issues with Burnley. It's a club I respect in fairness. Let them enjoy promotion because for them this will be as good as it gets. Sadly also the case for us if we go up.
Parker has done well but he inherited a much better group of players than Wilder did and got bigger backing last summer with no points deduction even though they also got a transfer ban in the same window we did. That's not saying they should have had minus two points but I think Burnley should finish second with their team.

Burnley have had 9 in the past 33, which I presumed you picked as the start of the Premier League era. That's not hugely dissimilar to us. They lack the finances and the location to do anything better than scrap valiantly to stay up and I'd be amazed if they weren't rock bottom by Easter 2026, not least because their star player (Trafford) is agitating to leave to a competent football club.Burnley have had 9 years in the PL in the last 15 years.

Correct. And seeing as they mobbed that corner the moment the whistle blew, there's was no option of a quick exit.It looked like they were trying to do that and should have been allowed to with dignity. We were and are worthy opponents. The Burnley tunnel is in a corner of the ground where most of the Burnley fans illegally and unrestrictedly were invading the pitch and running towards them.
There was echoes of Forest here. No man, footballer or otherwise, is going to want potentially violent fans running at them like that.
As has been said, many of the fans were more interested in taunting our players and fans than actually celebrating their achievement.
Twatish behaviour of the highest order.
I know. My point was that "they don't try and stay" there.Burnley have had 9 in the past 33, which I presumed you picked as the start of the Premier League era. That's not hugely dissimilar to us. He's done a good job undoubtedlyTo be fair, the transfer ban was for not submitting the accounts on time, not for overspending. We can't overspend because the owners have taken so much money out of the club that there's nothing left to overspend with!
Of Burnley's 20 players yesterday, only Trafford, Cullen, Brownhill, and Koleosho (unused sub) were at Burnley for a full season last year. Esteve and Redmond (unused sub) came in January '24 and Roberts and Egan Riley were out on loan last season. Parker had a lot of rebuilding to do, much of it after the season had started because we had a fire sale at the end of August.
Agree but still has nothing to do with us. If they wrote that our recent record was better than Burnley's then your point would stand...but they didnt. But they said they "never try and stay in the big league"
Soon to be 10 seasons from a possible 16 seasons up there would suggest that view is wide of the mark
That's 7 players who were at Parkers disposal for this season though which is over half the team. I'm not saying Parker's not done a good job at all, he has, but I just would expect Burnley to go up with the team he had this season and transfer budget. As I said before, no issues with Burnley, it's a decent club with top fans.To be fair, the transfer ban was for not submitting the accounts on time, not for overspending. Yes, I agree. One reason the relegated sides do so well (Luton apart!) is that for some reason the players that got us relegated seem to be still worth shedloads of money. Hence we were able to sell players for about £90m last summer (albeit mostly after the season had started) and about £60m the time before, after Dyche's relegation. I think it's that as much as (or more than?) the parachute money that distorts the market so unfairly. He's done a good job undoubtedly
But the three of us had squads so much stronger than the others it's Almoat cheating
You and Leeds have had relatively serene seasons with the sides youve been able to put out bad the rest and rotation you've been able to give them whereas ours has been a hotch potch of building a squad over two windows with a lot of players who have had no pre season or injury issues
Think if we had kept souttar fit we would have walked the league and Arblaster was a huge loss as he was the best player in the division at the time and added so much to our side when we lost that we became very one dimensional and easier to play against
Anyway my point being parker has done well with the cards dealt him but the championship this season is poor nad getting poorer year on year so much so that the relegated team can strip their squad down to the nub and still maintain a promotion challenge with loans and players not nea ly good enough for the Premier league
I look around and the only players I see who id class as Premier league quality are all potential I. E Trafford, Bellingham, Rigg etc no one who I think could take the step up now
I shared transport with a Burnley fan and had to wait for quite while for the celebrations to be over and observed masses of Burnley fans walking past. The only bad behaviour I saw was the idiots on the pitch and clips of phone footage.Yes, I agree. And back to the original topic, I agree that some of our fans are yobboes and care only for themselves. The reason Jack Moron invades the pitch is because he thinks the promotion isn't about the players, it isn't about the 20,000 fans, it's about Jack Moron and he wants to be there. I hope the ones who were getting in players' faces and winding them up do get banned, and if Choudrry had chinned one I would class that as "fan went looking for trouble - found it" and let it slide.
Anecdotally, a lot of them are on cocaine which presumably makes them lose what little wits they had.
And there's more
Some of their fans are acting like utter bellends.
It's already too late, the aftermath of the Forest game should have led to the FA/Police actually dealing with pitch invasions by enforcing the current punishments (it's apparently a criminal offence, not that you'd know from the police reaction) or potentially putting in place stricter punishments for large scale pitch invasions, points deductions, games behind closed doors, etc. But for whatever reason they seemingly chose to do nothing, well other than attempting to pursue criminal convictions for people who were forced to defend themselves against a mass crowd.Didn't see the incidents until today on here, but something has to be done before a player/ official/ manager is assaulted or injured.

Slightly pedantic point but Kompany wasn't sacked, he was the source of Burnley's 4th biggest transfer fee received last summer (€12m).Given Burnley's previous manager got sacked then went to Bayern Munich then surely Parker has to be a shoo-in for the soon-to-be vacant Real Madrid job?
Because we keep coming up short in big one off games attached to promotion?I've never thought that anyone from the stands should be on the pitch for any reason, no matter how celebratory the moment, unless they're invited to be there.
But, blind loyalty aside, a lot of people should give a little thought as to why this sort of thing seems to follow us around a little bit, and try to to imagine why that might be?
a bit ironic really, Jordan hates Wilder yet Wilder's (the old school, heart on his sleeve type) the sort of manager that SJ would have employed when he owned Palace.Just blamed us again for forest and had a dig at wilder

Sorry mate but you are so wrong with this comment, along with quite a few more on here who have seen the pitch invasion and immediately laid the blame at the door of OUR players, perhaps based on the recent fines we've accrued because of player disorder. Edgar Allan Poo has summed it up really well.Shows a lack of control by our players granted be great to show appreciation to the travelling fans but get off the pitch let them celebrate.. I'm sure we would have done the same had we have won promotion
Who cares what a rich ponce says about us? The only people who listen to and believe his shite are those at the lower end of the intelligence scale who think that, because he talks posh, he should be revered.Just blamed us again for forest and had a dig at wilder
Cracks me up when some of these so called 'hard' football 'lads' act up and then start squealing like fannies when they get 'some' back at them. Classic school bully mentality, soft as shit once someone lands one on the kisser or the beak![]()
