Don't get me wrong, I have no probs with that partnership at the moment, it's doin the biz. But the player that appatently was gonna come to the lane was obviously a striker that would go in front of any partnership we can muster at the moment. Or what would be the point.

What's wrong with having a rotating squad, if we did get someone good in? Doesn't seem to have done Chelsea any harm.

Also, you can't guarantee the fitness of Ships or Kabba - or Webber, or so it would seem - so getting extra cover seems like a viable option to me.

Just to lay this one to rest for final, Browny won't come back on loan to us. He spoke to someone and said, "Why the hell would I want to go back there?"

Plus the fact he's on £25k a week at Spurs :)

Spurs boss has said some of his fringe midfielders can ask to go on loan.

Would Browny get into our team at the moment??

Don't think he'd come, and to be honest not sure if I want him back. Yes he was a legend, but that was the past. We have to look towards the future. Plus it doesn't say much for him does it. Get a transfer to a prem club, then get loaned out back to the team that sold you.

im not sure he would get in either he had the magical season but if you remember the start of the season we sold him he was never at his best!!!

At the moment he would only make the bench (at a push still) we have had the most solid midfield for a long time, not just one player with 3 around him now. Then you just have to look at the bench Tonge and Keeeef more than able to replace anyone there.

Wouldn't say no to him comin back but maybe we could re asses the situation at Christmas incase we pick up any injuries.

Brown has played pretty well in the Premiership, and I remember him saying he wouldn't mind coming back to us one day, perhaps we can go for him next season for our hopeul first Premiership campaign since 1994? :)

Trust me, on a good source, Browny doesn't want to come back to us! The source I have still talks to him and he wouldn't like to take a step back in his career.

im shocked we should be offended i bet he would coe back if we get promoted i thought we were one of his favourite clubs. We dont need him now he has said that :p

In the papers on Sunday we had contrasting views. In 1 paper it said that he would be coming bac to us to helpus in our promotion push. In the other paper, guess who else is after him??? You got it, Kevin Blackwell, but it stated that Browny wanted to stay at Spurs to fight for his place??

So your guess is as good as mine if there is any truth in the matter.

Browny's turned down a season loan to Leeds, don't blame him :)

For sure, if he did come back to this lg, (which i'm not convinced he would) he'd only come back to probably us.

Bit of an odd one with Browny. We've all heard different rumours but the one that I think is most relevant is when he said "why the hell would I go back there?" referring to the fact that he's on somewhere in the region of 25k per week. Even if we were to take him on loan would Warnock want to pay his wages?

Also, he's understudy to some class midfielders at White Hart Lane so I think he's got a bloody long wait on his hands before he gets a start. If he decides to make a move, I think it's far more likely that he'll go on loan to some struggler in the Premiership. There's some big teams down at the bottom of the table this season.

Maybe so, but how gutted is he gonna feel if we go up and he's still sat on the bench every week at another prem club. Reckon we could persuade him to come back if we go up, but should we? I'm sure they'll be a lot more players out there who'd like to play for us in the prem.

I think he'd deserve to feel a bit gutted, personally. That's why Jags will become more of a Lane Legend than Browny. Commitment and loyalty. I know Brown is a few years older than Jags but still, Jags believes in Sheffield United, Browny obviously didn't.

i always loved to see browny play, and there were lots of clubs watching him during the great cup run a couple of seasons back, we had a good season then, but not quite good enough, he had an oppertunity and took it.

im not sure that i could see him fitting back into the side myself, not to mention the wage drop he would have to take.

And as for him fighting for his place, hmmm while ever davids is fit he will be first choice especially under Jol.

True....

I think Jags maybe has a clause in his contract that if we go up, he won't be for sale. I really hope so, he was spoken too on Soccer Am on Sat. he's just thinking about Millwall on Saturday, that's it. And he want's to play for us in the prem. And I just think he may get his wish.

Jagielka deserves all the praise he gets, I hope we can hang on to him, but in fairness I don't think it's a case of "hanging on to him". He seems a genuine lad who oozes loyalty and is not solely motivated by money. Good to see, this day in time!

i agree.....

my personal opinion is that the only immediate reason for loosing jags would be if we somehow mess up the glorious start that we have made, and dont acheive promotion at all. Then i think we will have a battle on our hands to keep him.

you have said something good there.

Jags is obviously commited to the club, which explains him signin an extension to his contract at the end of las season i think.

With the amount of goals Jags has banged in recently, somehow I can see him turning out to be even better than Browny was when he's here, especially as Jags is commited to his club and Browny wasn't especially in early 03/04.

i already think jags is better than browny, not as prolific yet but an all round better player IMO

Rangers were in the hunt for Browny and their name cropped up again for a loan deal until the end of season.

As for Jags, not that I want to slag Browny off but Jags has the makings of a better player as he has already played in defence so he knows how to do that well enough. Now he has the grasp of midfield and a partnership with Monty, he can only get better.

yep, more improvements and quality things to come frm jags.

Brown linked with a return to Man City this morning with Birmingham and Wigan mentioned too.

Even if he fancied coming back to us I can't see us competing on wages.

Me neither Silverfox, think he is out of the equation, for now anyway.

Well im sure if cardiff can afford his wages then so can we.

cardiff are struggling to afford his wages arn't they?
