Don't shoot the messenger - long time reader, semi-occasional poster.

Just to try and clear up any confusion - Brooks is definitely ill and was hospitalised/bedridden for a short while with said illness.
This has come from a colleague of mine whose daughter is very good friends with brooks. My colleague knows naff all about football and so would not need to make any of this up to wind me up - she didn't even realise how popular/good a player brooks was until she overheard me talking about him in the office.

Apparently Wilder has no intention of selling him (as we know it may be out of his hands) and the Liverpool interest (for now at least) has calmed.

Could be bollocks but thought it might quell some fears for January at least.

UTB (please crucify me in true S24SU style)

Even if Liverpool were interested, I think they are probably still focusing on either a ready made replacement for Coutinho or more defensive reinforcements. I don't think recruiting Brookes will be their immediate concern. Hopefully all of their other priorities might cool off this deal.

To be honest I think Brookes' form and then subsequent illness might have put off a big club like Liverpool for now, if I was them I'd want to see how he progresses in the second half of the season and then make a final decision.

Crucifixion? Yes. Good, out of the door, line on the left, one cross each.
Next!
Cru ..... Cru ...... Cru......

Cru ..... Cru ..... Cru ......

Cruci ... Cruci ...... Cruci .....

.... Cr ...Cr ...Cr ....

C ..C . ... C.... Cr .. Crucifixion is too good for him, Sir

I hope they are focused on Brookes, big time.

To be honest, I ain't worried about losing Brooks when the rumour is Liverpool, it just doesn't sound very likely to me.

Why would Liverpool pay a fee of say £8m+ for a player who would be one for the future when they already have Ben Woodburn who is younger, similar type of player and at least as good as Brooks?

Agree, Brooks hasn’t done much yet, it’s just massive potential.
Maybe a rich club might pay 5 to 10 million for potential
But SU are under no pressure to sell.
So eventhough he’s not worth it, I think we’d be starting the bidding at 15 million
But I very much doubt anyone would offer 15 million in the JTW, so he’s staying.

He might as well go for some people, to be honest. They find it impossible to enjoy his performances without attacking our chairman for something he hasn’t done.

We’d be better off going back to useless ragamuffins like Montgomery and Doyle, managed by Quickfix or SemiPro. We’d all sleep easier and have more stable knees.

More a case for mere tarring & feathering than crucifixion, I'd have thought?

I'll get the pot on the boil. Just need a few geese to be plucked and we can get started.

Says the man who didn't want him in the team

...until Wilder thought he was ready, by contrast to the Silly Bladey Boybanders u-15 section who wanted to Givemallarun just in case anyone was.
You ridiculed people who suggested playing him
