Or to put it another way, how much should CW have to spend?

I don't care about the Brooks money that's in the past and i don't know how things can be improved as i'm financially illiterate but right now financially we cannot compete. And to answer your last question he should have whatever he wants or what puts us in a more comfortable position when bidding for top quality players etc

Well, it's not just the Brooks money, is it? That itself is in installments, is it not? So that cash isn't even with the club … and depending upon 'other commitments' - such as servicing debt - it may not even be dedicated toward team strengthening.

The Brooks money is in instalments but I seem to remember that the club have taken out a loan to cover the outstanding amount so it can be used in any imminent dealings.
I'm sure someone out there can confirm this (hopefully)?????
