I noticed David Brooks wished both Woodburn and Bryan luck at SUFC via Twitter - he obviously knows them both well from Wales and City’s academy respectively. Would have liked to think he helped them make their decision that BDTBL was the place for them.

Yes, keeping Brooks on retainer to take part in our future recruitment was specifically written into his Bournemouth contract.

Woodburn stated that he spoke to both Lee Evans and Brooks before making his choice known.
Brooks "congrats bro" tweet for Bryan included the crossed blades emoji - meks you wonder if he really wanted to leave at all.

Can’t see why Brooks would have any animosity towards us. It’s not like we fought to keep him getting a prem move
Not the point I was making - I'm wondering if he regrets it from the perspective of being somewhere he felt right at home and enjoyed his football. Could be that rubbing shoulders with granny's near a fish & chip shop, wearing a kiss me quick (before I nod off) straw boater, feels quite strange, compared.

He's jealous of the guys coming into this club.

So Bournemouth isn't a bustling metropolis, perfect for a young lad who's lived in 2 of the biggest 5 cities in the country? :)

Wouldn't be a massive shock to see him on Loan at Forest/Boro/Stoke in Jan

I bloody hope not :)
We haven't got room for him and he's probably burnt his bridges with Wilder.

It'd be shit but if he doesn't get any playing time I could see it. Personally i wish him well and hope he steps straight up to their first team

Looking at their homepage, he has started their pre-season friendlies and they are pretty happy with him.
Noticed they mentioned concerns about his illness and the need for him to bulk up. Good luck to him and I hope he does well

I hope he does really well - earns a big money move and the sell on clause kicks in :)

Not quite but it’s changed massively over the 20 odd years I’ve been going there. It’s a better night out than Sheffield. It’s only about 20 minutes to Southampton too.

But I suspect that, given he hasn’t yet settled in, there’ll be a tinge of regret. When I moved down south, despite living in a fantastic place (Brighton) I had a few ‘wtf have I done’ moments. He’s probably sat thinking that his new watch, car and house are poor substitutes for the mates he had at the Lane and the craic playing under Wilder. That’ll change if he gets games though and does well. And if it doesn’t, he knows Wilder’s phone number.

The type of player he is means he doesn't need to bulk up, this is a fallacy. Bulking up leads to a loss of pace and agility. Ask George Best (figuratively speaking that is seeing as he's dead).

Moving away is always daunting. I agree, if he's playing he'll be fine

IF and its a big IF with still all of the season ahead to play for we managed to get promoted then I can forsee a return to the Blades for Brooks

Wouldn't want him back. He went for the pennies. If he's not enjoying himself he should've thought about the negatives of moving the furthest distance down south. (Minus Cornwall)

Chill fella. :)
It was a career move based on some sound logic at the time. I wish him well and hope a time will come when returning as a Blade is beneficial to both club and player.

Hope you won’t be too disappointed when brooks plays and does well, what’s with hammering players that leave, they clearly aren’t all mercenaries..

He’s gone move on wish him luck, we got decent money for the first time ever.. what’s the problem.

Well said, good move for him. Both financially and a decent club for him to move to. If he does well there he'll be onto bigger and better things - and we'll get rewarded in the mean time!

GLTTL!

We ought to be busy hammering the club we claim to support rather than young tyros with a lot to prove at other clubs. Other clubs are fantastic and all their players are brill.

Did anyone ever think that Jug Ears was great, eg when knocking two past Tottenham?

I thought he had an eye for goal and there could be a great future for the lad. His quick goals against Spurs showed a great striker's instinct and that isn't easily taught.

His team play was atrocious and he only ever tracked back when instructed to do so by a team mate, bawling accross the pitch. The game seemed to pass him by in the middle of the park, and he only came alive around the box.

I'd have been happy to keep him and see what happened, but he was 'fringe' so when we got a daft offer we had to take it. That allowed CW to rebuild and get us promoted, so no problem with that.

All the social media bollocks after just proved what a childish little areshole he was, so on reflection we are well rid.
