A few are there or thereabouts but if you want wide forwards I'll give you Tommy Conway and........ Callum Robinson. And I'd put BBD above their level. Haji Wright could be another if he's still considered a WF

I thought I was losing my mind for a second and had to double check that Hamer did indeed play for us last season!

Did he not play most of his football at CF for Blackburn?
He's being asked to do a very different role here. He's certainly not the focal point, lots of defensive graft and contributes to our attacks when they happen.

I know you make reference to us being a top two side, but our attacking stats are fairly average (probably 5th - 10th on XG and goals scored).
I doubt he's much behind his XG (can think of a couple of big misses at Luton & QPR but not much outside of that).

I really like him, and he covers 3 positions.
 
Bearing in mind as well, we’d still want him if we didn’t go up. However I hope we don’t just try and buy the best champ players if we are promoted. You have to recruit from other top leagues round Europe.

In his most prolific season at Blackburn, transfermarkt says he got 13 in 24 at CF and 8 in 12 at LW for what it's worth

In his other season it says 9 in 24 LW, 3 in 8 CF and 2 in 8 LM

I think with a player as mobile and highly involved as him, starting position isn't hugely influential in dictating the number of goals he'll score. These stats indicate it. As long as he's in the attacking areas, he should score a good number at this level
 
He's at his most effective at left wing cutting in
To me he just lokks a bit low on confidence after his spell at Southampton, think when this comes back we will see him at his best
 
Not sure he'd be good value for money in all honesty.

Norwich would want above market value and don't think he'd be the difference between us staying up or not.
 
Not sure about Sainz. Sargent however would be an excellent signing, also improve the discipline!!

He’s in the final year of his contract after summer so may be forced to sell him
 

Too streaky for what Norwich would ask. Would take Sargent at the right price though.
 
We've got 3 proper wingers/wide forwards (BBD, JRS and Brooks) and 1 other player who can play on the wing in Hamer, 4 players for 2 positions this season.
  • BBD: loan with option to buy, first choice RW but main position is LW
  • Brooks: seems to have got back into the team recently as a RW sub, but in and out of the team all season
  • JRS: loan only, started well but has since faded and has been an unused sub recently
  • Hamer: first choice LW, but not his strongest position
Assuming we sign BBD permanently while JRS goes back to palace, that leaves us with 3 players for 2 important positions.

Getting Sainz in would be class, regardless of what league we're in, and we'll need those options/depth next season.

RW: Brooks, BBD
LW: Sainz, Hamer

Bang on the money with that assessment,he played either a focal point or just behind or roaming behind the forward. He’s done a good job unnoticed really. 👍

He's just a kid could have a pre season where he steps up similarly to seriki physically and mentally and nails down a first team place
Don't know why people are so quick to write these lads off maybe just ignorance but it wouldn't surprise me if he is playing first team football for us next season

I’m not writing him off, but it’s ludicrous to suggest he will be a first team player for us if we go up when he cannot get a game in the Championship.

And Seriki is our 3rd choice RB.

Brooks played more last season than he has this season. Look how that turned out.

I haven't seen a significant (or even minor) improvement in him to suggest he's worthy of starting for us now, never mind a league above. Clearly Wilder thinks the same, else he'd be starting. He's a bench warmer. He'll be lucky to have a place on the bench next year if we go up.

Loan him out, get him a 30/40 games and see where he's at.

If he's starting next year we can forget it.

I'm not saying he will but writing off the lads career and denigrating his achievements this year on this weekend of all weekends seems to me like a bit of a stretch for something to moan about
 
Have we ever had anyone Spanish play for us? I can’t think of any.
