Thousands of youngsters will watch Sheffield United's final home game of the season for free - and get an early taste of what young supporters can expect at Bramall Lane next season.

The match against Premier League chasing Bristol City has been designated a Junior Football Day to celebrate the club's association with all young players and fans.

In the strictly local promotion, an Under 12 accompanied by a paying adult can obtain free admission to the Upper Tier of the Halliwells Stand.

Also, free tickets are being offered to Junior Blades members and a variety of children-based community groups, including pupils attending the club's Fit for School scheme.

Emma Wylie, Sheffield United's ticket office manager, said: "We want to reach out to families and communities through our ticket offers. We are expecting another big crowd and great atmosphere."

United's ticket offer follows their decision to provide free season tickets to U12s next season, if they sign-up as a Junior Blade for £10 and are accompanied by an adult paying season ticket holder.

Adding to the occasion at the Bristol City game will be a parade by all of the club's Junior Blades team and the introduction to supporters of the latest intake - Under 9s - to the Academy at Shirecliffe.

Supporters will get a glimpse of the new 2008/09 home kit. The club has received special permission to play in the new strip. At half-time, the new away strip will be worn by the club's U18 squad during an exhibition game.

The free U12s tickets for the Bristol City clash are available until 7pm on Friday 25th April from the Blades Ticket Office. General tickets are on sale as normal from £20 for adults and £12 for concessions (pensioners and over 12s). For more information, contact the Blades Ticket Office on 0871 222 1889.

Rubbing it in to those on the other side of the city perhaps and a look at the new shirt.

should be a good game,
iv got the last 2 prediction rite
so im going to go for a 3-1 blades win
with Sharp scoring, not sure on Beattie though ;)

2-1 United

With Beattie getting another penalty perhaps and Sharp scoring :)

Team News :D

Sheffield United defender Derek Geary will return to the squad following a groin problem but the Blades are without suspended skipper Chris Morgan.

James Beattie is likely to continue up front alongside Billy Sharp.

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has one or two injury doubts, but has been reluctant to name the players involved.

Johnson will take a full squad of 22 players to South Yorkshire, including striker Steve Brooker (hamstring) who missed last week's defeat at Stoke.

Wasn't the best game but the defence held strong!! Up the Blades!

great game :D great atmosphere
how did cotteril miss that and how did hulse put that over :o
bring on the saints :)

Thought we deserved it overall, but by no means was a good game.

Hulse was poor again, and to be honest Blackwell needs his head looking at. To leave Stead on the bench all time and sending Hulse on is criminal.

Ehiogu for the penalty, what was he thinking?? Absolute ridiculous.

Cotterills miss..... well it happens.

Bristol are nothing special, but we made hard work of it.

Was a poor game but we defended welland just about deserved it

What on earth U..go was doing for penalty i really don't know

Bristol weren't brilliant but neither were we but now the final day is going to something special. Things went right today and i believe we are owed another week of things going our way.

COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE FUCKING WIZAAAARDS!!

hulse got brought on to replace BT holding the ball. id imagine stead would have come on but due to the injures couldnt.

I wouldnt have brought martin, it should have been del boy on and halls to CB.

kenny pulled off a few good saves.

Bristol were shit.

Another thing on hulse, alot round me keep slagging him off saying hes been crap since we bought him. Tossers.

Injuries can affect players, i think in Hulse's case it has

Totally agree.

Although I think with Hulse once he gets a goal he will get more.

Anyway great game today even if the football wasnt that great.

Speed MOTM for me.

:D

the pen, UGO swung to clear it and missed ball and him, was minimal contact.

Three players in contention for my MOTM.............

Speed, Kilgallon or Naysmith......... Naysmith what ? changed player since Blackie arrive and my MOTM well done Mr Naysmith.

Kilgallon will be a legend at BDTBL.
