See that three Brighton players have tested positive for Covid I hope they recover fully and those that they have been in contact stay well also. I know it will sound cynical but isn't this coincidental with the Premier League about to make decisions about the season this week and Brighton have already said they don't want to restart, don't want neutral venues and basically don't want to finish the season because they may get relegated. Even if there is nothing sinister about the How did the three get infected are they not still under lockdown?

They should be over it before the season restarts, they've called it too soon unless they are planning on having 3 players tested positive ad infinitum.

I have no real desire for the season to restart I think it might as well be voided now and then we can look forward to next season when ever that may start. If the season does restart behind closed doors what happens if you are due to play a team who have had a player who has just tested positive and all his team mates have to self isolate for 14 days? If the League are really thinking of a restart they need to address this. I think they will restart but it won't be long before it encounters problems

Another team who dont want this season finished in any circumstances... Premier League needs to still have relegation though!

I think there will be a lot of players from relegation threatened clubs testing positive over the next few days.

Like the team bottom of the 2nd division in Germany who’ve conveniently all gone into a 2 week isolation, a week before the season restarts.

it is a bit convenient dont reveal the player or self isolating for 14 days. unlike German team that have. it almost like brighton have been against any form of football so they can cheat relegation & rob another £100m

It's called frightened to death of going down, my bet is West Ham or Villa next👍

Why start a new season in uncertain circumstances somewhere around November / December, and have to cram the games in.
When you could finish off the existing one instead in a much more relaxed schedule with flexibility.
A bonus might be that the League cup & the FA cup might also take on a higher profile, and teams will stop playing second string teams in them..
P.S.
How will the League Cup & the F.A. cup be constructed if leagues 1 & 2 have no teams ?

Just play the season when it’s possible if it means starting a new season in December so be it.
Play the last 10 matches as a glorified pre-season if it is needed.

All these people shouting get the season cancelled don’t understand that football will start again at the same point new season or not.

If regular tegular testing of players is going to be a thing, it needs to be done by an independent body. If it's done at a club level, it'll be a mess.

Help a Brother out
What's the conspiracy?
a. No Brighton player has been tested, they're just saying one is positive
b. Brighton have been testing, no one is positive, but they're saying one is
c. Brighton have been testing, and they've deliberately infected a player, so that he tests positive
I'm sure it's My Bad - but, I don't want to get it wrong

Not sure why people keep saying null and void like it's going to go away come August it's either finish the seaosn whenever that is or just end season as it is

We’ve done this to death. A new season will begin with the same levels of risk/ precautions in place as now. So why not just get on with the remainder of this? Football will be no different in August, September or October

I read it as bottom 6 teams (and I apologise if they aren't all taking this stance) are saying whatever they think will stop the league from recommencing in the hope that there will be no relegation this season. The EPL need to make it clear that irrespective of how the season finishes there will be relegation and promotion to and from the Championship.

I can see the government bottling it over the next week or so and insisting no team sports until there is a vaccine.

and as there is no guarantee about a vaccine being available soon, or even at all, that will be the death knell for many clubs.

Brightons run in is very tasty, they will pull any stunt possible to avoid playing out the season.

I think Her Royal Highness Wet Spam Princess has acquired sufficient quantities of infected commodities to be dutily injected, in what is a purely 'as and when' requirement to all relevant staff.

Surprise surprise... Brighton, who want to get the season cancelled so thay can't get relegated, suddenly have players tested positive the day before the Premiership vote on restarting the season.

I smell a rat

There are many many complications to getting this season restarted, I dont want it to be voided, for me any conclusion would be better than void even the PPG equation, there has to be a relegation and promotion isn`t that the whole point of competition?

Boris address shortly. Let's see if any reference is made in public interest for mental well-being. I shall view but overseas and in a better place than UK. 😎
