It's not that uncommon for players and managers for that matter to misremember games and dates etc. I've seen loads of interviews with players where they can't remember who they played, when and what the score was. I suppose if you're living it, you're just working not like us saddo stattos who remember every game and goal scored.

I remember George Harrison talking about the period of recording Rubber Soul and Revolver and he couldn't remember which was which.
