Brewster

If anyone has a still photo of the incident on half way where he gets away and their lad has to pull him down, I’d be interested to see how far away the Wolves last man actually was.

Looked a red rather than a yellow to me 😡.

UTB
Not only that incident which got quickly brushed under the carpet but when Brewster went clean through in the first half and shot over the bar he was clearly took out by the defender who got no where near the ball, why wasn’t it a penalty? Never got a mention!

Brewdog played well today, hopefully more to come.

Comparing him to Hwang today based on stats they both had 26 touches, Hwang made 19 passes with an 87% completion rate, Brewster 10 passes with a 90% completion rate. Brewster had 3 shots to Hwang’s none.

As you’d expect both had the joint lowest amount of touches by some distance of all the starting outfield players but that’s because of the position they play.

I’d say what was seen a poor game for Hwang was seen as a good game for Brewster. Both were fairly tidy in looking after the ball, the main difference that Brewster got some shots away.

Doesn’t take much to get motm for us anymore does it. Praising a striker who missed chances he should be scoring & didn’t choose the right final ball all game.
One of his better performances for us and I’d say there was nobody that stood out more than him today, for the right reasons

You’re right on shots and final ball, but he’s improved in 90 mins and almost looked good enough for league one

I wasn’t expecting that performance. Not going to go over the top ( as seems to be the way on here ) but it was a really good afternoon from him. Looked lively, sharp and as I have said before, has a really good shot on him, particularly on the volley.
It was noticeable that the lack of game time means less of an understanding between the midfield as a few times he made opposite runs to where the ball was passed.
Let’s hope he can build on that performance, however I imagine he will get much less of the ball in the next match.

Glad I’m not the only one who was incensed by that - you’re exactly right that the defender took Brewster out and the commentators completely ignored it.
Of course VAR didn’t bother either.

Yep, a clear penalty because if the defender doesn’t foul him he has a clearer attempt at scoring a goal, now I’m not saying he’d have definitely scored it but you know what I mean. 😁

See if MOTD2 mention it! 🤔🙄😁

I am a Brewster fan, but anyone who says he was our best player today im questioning what game you were watching. He didn’t run the channels, he was static round the 18 yard box in any attacking situation and tired after 60 mins (to be fair coming back from injury so not to critical on that)

To be fair he won a couple of flick ons and hit the target once from a chance. But not sure what else he did.

Maybe that shows how crap we are if that constitutes a MOM performance.

In my opinion, I actually thought Trusty was. Solid, kept his distribution simple and was vocal across the back line.

If you can keep Brewster fit and healthy and you can get that performance out of him week in, week out he'll be a huge asset next season in the Championship.

Also sell Hamer to Leeds or whoever want's him and buy:

Szmodics

And you're not sure what game we were watching?

No one will buy Hamer.

Callum O’Hare is better than him and on a free.

Then we have a very good operator at Championship level. O'Hare is off our radar and will join a Palace type club.

I like Szmodics and if we can reinvest the Archer money I'd go all out for this kid.

I don’t see us purchasing any players.

The Accoutant said as much. We need to sell players to balance the books. Which doesn’t look good for purchasing players.

He said we are looking more for loans and free transfers.

Not including Archer (who will be going back) it's supposed to be frees and loans unless we sell another one for decent money(Anel?) I'm which case we get to use a large chunk of that money on the transfer war chest.

I don't think we are in bad shape at all financially now, it's just that the owner isn't going to put any more money in so it's a case of spending what we generate. Wilder will have to wheel and deal. Let's hope he gets it right.

For my money, the covering defender doesn’t catch Brewster. Not one of their defenders had the pace of Brewster, I recon a goal scoring opportunity was stopped with the pull back. Whether that is a red nowadays I’m not sure.
I don’t care about “goal scoring opportunities” “Professional” fouls are a big issue and it ruins games because you know that any break is going to be stopped by players being hauled down - it happens every week and I hate to see it. They should be sent off for serious foul play - just because nobody is getting maimed makes no difference.

Number 1. Was likely greatly improved as he was actually playing as a central striker today, rather than coming on as a sub to play in wide midfield, which is absolutely not his game, but is how he seems to have been used too often.
Brewster has played centrally most of the games he played for us under Hecky and Wilder. Slav played him wide. He played centrally until going off injured against Wolves at the lane. His movement while better today was by no means good. Hamer McAtee twice Laourici and Bogle on the ball needed Brewster to move into space to receive a pass from them. For some reason he doesn't read those situations well and the attack stalls or we lose possession. More games will help but its coaching and footballing intelligence are needed to rectify.

The seesaw is in full swing tonight. The amount of "I don't know what game you were watching " and "agenda" is fairly juvenile. It's OK that someone has a different opinion than you. Discuss the difference with reason and not emotion. There is plenty to discuss.

He was more the player everyone wants him to be and that's good base to build.. More regular games under his belt and he starts to find the net

I think you could see today that he has the tools. Tidy on the ball and played with a purpose. If he keeps playing like this the goals will come.

Didn't get injured. Tick. Didn't get sent off. Tick. Had a go. Tick.
