At the age of 24 he is.

Vardy went to Leicester (Championship) at 25.

Who knows what will happen in the future

Ah, so it's perfectly valid to compare 24 year old Brewster to 24 year old Moore.

But when it's 24 year old Brewster compared to 24 year old Vardy it suddenly doesn't count.

You're really squirming here pal.

Attacking:
Brewster: 2 goals vs 2.4 xG (no penalties), 2 assists
Moore: 5 goals vs 7.3 xG; 4 non-penalty goals vs 4.9 npxG. 1 in 3 penalties scored. 0 assists

Possession (stats per 90 mins):
Brewster: 23.4 passes attempted, 17.9 successful (75.7%)
Moore: 18.4 passes attempted, 11.6 successful (63.0%)

Brewster: 33.8 touches; 1.39 take-ons, 40% success
Moore: 29.0 touches; 1.20 take-ons; 50% success

Brewster: 3.24 recoveries
Moore: 2.41 recoveries

Brewster: 3.88 aerial duels, 34.9% success
Moore: 7.89 aerial duels, 59.5% success

Defensive (stats per 90 mins)
Brewster: 1.1 tackles, 0.56 won. 1.11 challenges, 33.3% success. 1.11 blocks, 0.46 interceptions
Moore: 0.38 tackles, 0.30 won. 0.36 challenges, 16.7% success. 0.54 blocks, 0.18 interceptions

So...
Brewster is a better finisher, provides more, is more involved both in an out of possession. The only stats which Moore is better on are take ons and aerials.

I'll put 50p on your response being to ignore the stats and state that it's your subjective opinion.
You 've missed this stat
Brewster 2 goals this season
Moore 5 goals this season

Brewster 6 goals in last five season's
Moore 52 goals in last five season's

Goals win matches. Statistics dont.

There are lies, dam lies and then there are statistics.

Balham

You seem to know your figures anyway.

Can you do the stats on Moore v Brewster for International goals, Premier League goals, Championship goals and League One goals?

Rhian Brewster is 25 this year so it seems only fair to compare them like for like. Moore was born on 8 August 1992 so the stats will be compared up to the end of the 2016/17 season for him.

Brewster:
Premier League (2 seasons): 0 goals in 40 apps (2097 mins)
Championship (3.5 seasons): 16 goals in 75 apps (4000 mins, 0.36 goals/90 mins)
League One: 0 apps
National League: 0 apps
International (all England): U21 18 caps/3 goals; U18 1 cap/0 goals; U17 23 caps/20 goals; U16 4 caps/4 goals

Moore:
Premier League: 0 apps
Championship (1.5 seasons): 4 goals in 31 appearances (1400 mins; 0.25 goals/90 mins)
League One (1 season): 3 goals in 30 appearances (1777 mins; 0.15 goals/90 mins)
National League (2.5 seasons): 12 goals in 37 appearances (1950 mins, 0.55 goals/90 mins)
Norwegian Tippeliegen (1 season): 0 goals in 9 apps (266 mins)
International: England C 1 cap/0 goals

Edit: missed that mattbianco1 had already done almost exactly this. Great minds eh??

Mint!

Now do Brewster v Vardy.

Great minds, eh?

🤣🤣🤣

The brewster hate riles me no end.
Hate is a very strong word! I don't hate him. I just don't think he's the player we all hoped he would be. That's just my opinion. You have a different one. I'm ok with that.
People talk like the money the clubs spent on him is their own hard earned personal savings or something.
Well anyone who attends matches pays their hard earned money to watch the team. So in some small effect they HAVE contributed to his wages.
People really seem to have a vendetta against him for some reason.
There's no vendetta. People are just expressing their own opinions. Just like you do.

No he hasn't.
So name the player who on a £ for £ basis has given us worse return over a 5 year career with us?

Sorry - but I can’t think of one. I agree that he has been unlucky with injuries - but he will remain our worst signing in history regardless.

There's a lot more to judging players than just goals scored.

Didzy had one season where he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo but was still one of the first names on the teamsheet.

I'm not squirming at all. Where have I said it doesn't count. I'm actually using the exact same metric.
I have said it 100% DOES COUNT. You're clearly not reading the posts correctly

Mint!

Now do Brewster v Vardy.

Great minds, eh?

🤣🤣🤣

Brewster (now, at 24)
  • Premier League Games = 40
  • Championship Games = 75 (16 goals)
  • League 1 Games = 0
  • League 2 Games = 0
  • National League Games = 0
  • International Career
    • England u16 (4 games, 4 goals)
    • England u17 (23 games, 20 goals)
    • England u18 (1 game, 0 goals)
    • England u21 (18 games, 3 goals)
Vardy (at 24)
  • Premier League Games = 0
  • Championship Games = 0
  • League 1 Games = 0
  • League 2 Games = 0
  • National League Games = 36 (31 goals)
  • National League North Games = 4 (3 goals)
  • International Career = 0 games
So yes. At 24years old, Rhian Brewster is better than Jamie Vardy, as i've already said.

So name the player who on a £ for £ basis has given us worse return over a 5 year career with us?

Sorry - but I can’t think of one. I agree that he has been unlucky with injuries - but he will remain our worst signing in history regardless.

Ebrell, end of.

£1m for 45 minutes.

The gall to accuse someone of squirming when you’ve spent the entire last few pages shifting argument every time you’re proved wrong. And not once showing humility to back down on anything. Not once. Genuinely internet forumming at its finest.

What have I been proved wrong on?

So why did you take issue with me saying Cannon is better than Brewster?

What's your problem with that?

I assumed you were basing it on 3 games because you'd suggested that Balham was basing Brewster on just this season.

Tom Cannon at 22 is a very promising player:
  • Premier League = 3 games
  • Championship = 58 games (19 goals)
  • International Career
    • Ireland u19 (2 games, 1 goal)
    • Ireland u21 (1 game, 1 goal)
    • Ireland full (2 games, 1 goal)

Rhian Brewster at 22:
  • Premier League Games = 27
  • Championship Games = 50 (14 goals)
  • International Career
    • England u16 (4 games, 4 goals)
    • England u17 (23 games, 20 goals)
    • England u18 (1 game, 0 goals)
    • England u21 (18 games, 3 goals)

He was basing it on just this season.

The stats he provided were for this season, were they not?

They were. So you had "assumed" that he was basing Brewster as being better just on this season.
I then assumed that you'd seen more from Cannon in 3 games to suggest he's better.

Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.

You know full well what he did.

Come on, you're not stupid.

He did a direct comparison of them both this season when they've both been a United player 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, i'm really bored of all this and will leave you to it now. Enjoy the game

You know full well he cherry picked stats from this season because if you open it out to their entire careers there's no comparison.

Nice moving of the goalposts again though by saying we can now only compare stats from when they've both been playing for United. 🙄

Bye.

I compared the two this season because that's the only time they've played for the same team. My opinion is that Brewster is better than Moore right now, both individually and in terms of what they bring to the team. What on earth does the past have to do with anything? If that's the game then you would argue that Alan Shearer is better than both of them because he's scored more Premier League goals.

Moore has a role to play but he's this season's James Hanson...just 10x more expensive in both wages and transfer fee. Brewster will end the season with a better goals per 90 ratio than Moore. He may even end up with more non-penalty goals. He will absolutley end the season with more assists.

Ebrell, end of.

£1m for 45 minutes.
Yep - you got me - I’d forgotten about him - although I think most people have given he only lasted 45 mins!!!!

Anyway I hope it works out for Brewster & he bags 10 goals in the next 15 games to fire us to promotion!!!

Factor that up due to how long ago it was

I don't know where to get the specific football inflation rate from, but if you take the UK general rate of inflation (RPI) of 2.8% for the last 28 years, then £1m becomes around £ 1.75m.

I'm not really sure what your argument is, but it mean 'today's Ebrell' cost around £ 39k per minute. I'll let you see that we have had better value out of Brewster.
