genuinely cant remember i was this happy for a goalscorer. i feel i have been 1 of his few supporters keeping faith (almost delusional at times) as if ever a player deserves a break it's him

sometimes sport is believing in things what make zero sense logically

Do you seriously think some Blades hate Brewster?
They'll always by a minority of those types. Just ignore em....they live to complain and hate someone.

Anyhow not seen much in the way of hatred towards Brewster on this thread, seen some comments a bit harsh with comical Micky taking but that's not hate. Most of the negative criticism towards Brewster on this thread has been honest and measured.

Professional players are paid a handsome salary, with some being made a millionaire, their performances are out their to be criticised.
Every one has off day, even a short run of good or bad form.....so I prefer to judge over a longer period of matches and take everything into account.

Agree....doesn't matter how the goal is scored...the fact that he scored the match winning goal will be a massive boost.
If we gain promotion at least he'll know he played a meaningful part in enabling that to happen.
I seriously think some do, £23m and some think he should be getting 30+ a season, football don't work like that. It is in Blades fans DNA to spout abuse at big signings, ask Sander Berge or Oli McBurnie

Yes, I think there's a group who really want to slag him off and jump on him no matter what he does. Those who do this season in, season out with whichever the player out of favour is (historically think Squinny, Tonge, Monty etc players who some always loved to hate), who have literally no empathy for his situation. I'm so glad he's got his poachers goal tonight. Must be a massive relief for him.

turnarounds we have seen all too often. look at chris porter, paul coutts & vini souza. all been scapegoats at times & turned into cult heroes. in vini souza imagine saying in april he would captain the blades next season. you be carried away with the white coats

In fairness, positioning is as much about reading the game as it is about pace. I recall Paul McGrath always being where he needed to be without ever seemingly even jogging.
Campbell/Sharp just being in the right place gets goals. Heard loads out of club about Brewster being a fantastic finisher but in games time and time again he struggles to read the game, tonight he put himself between the sticks and it worked out.

Sharp bagged many a goal like that but then a handful on this forum didn't rate him much either. Too Bladey Blade or some shit like that.

That was more to do with his knee's being f**ked he couldnt jog anywhere so had to anticipate. When he played for us he didnt do any running in training cos he couldnt. Plus he used to play in matches whilst still drunk from the night before. Good player though.

All down to Hamer.
I'm 73 and even I could have scored that one.

Let’s be honest would you have been able to get into that position in the first place? 🤣

I bet you couldn’t have made the run so that’s a nonsense.

Thank you JJ.
Nobody reads the game quite like I do.
And I'm sure Paul will be along in a moment to confirm it.

I've only caught the highlights after the match. Looks offside? Or did they have a proper look at it during the game which shows otherwise?

Pleased for the lad didn't deserve some of the abuse he was getting on here on Sunday

It’s never nice attacking our own players but come on, after the last 5 years and then shower he turned out on Sunday people were more than entitled to vent.

Delighted for him and the club tonight, but the appraisals of what he produced on Sunday were more than fair.

Great to see him bag a goal, and hopefully he'll kick on and stay fit.

My uncle is like this.

He despised McBurnie called him "donkey" and jeered every time he missed a chance.

At start of season he declared Brewster as his new "donkey".

I said how harsh it was due to his injuries etc. and he replied with "every squad we have, I always have a donkey. Brewster is this seasons."

That sums up united as a fan base

No, it sums up your uncle.

That was his first match winning goal for us since we signed him. Few more of those required. He couldn't ask for a better opportunity on Saturday to kick on could he. Hopefully he takes it.

Yeah I think it's so frustrating. I'm sure all teams have fans like this too but it does feel like there are a definite group who love to hate certain players. Don't get it myself.

I pretty much don’t understand the hate the guy gets and normally wish well on all of our players but then came Gribic last year, who was just shockingly bad but still I don’t blame him. The people who scouted and recommended him should never have anything to do with the club again.

Agreed. Nick Hornby talks about it with Gus Caesar at Arsenal. Players who must be good to be at that level, but for some reason can’t produce. I think there was more than meets the eye with poor Gribic. Same with Brewster, Well done to him last night. Had a good game.

I could better understand with Gribic if he was dropping balls making silly mistakes and it could be put down to confidence, but he just wasn’t doing the basics right and was slow to react with little arm extension.

Grbic has played 10 games for Rizespor this season. They have lost 5 of them.

They've only lost 7 games this season 🤣

Pleased for the lad its been a long time coming ,Fingers crossed he says fit and bags us at least 10 goals this season
