The excuse I heard the other day was "it's because they are more expensive to produce". Well just put the fucking price up a bit then, I'd rather that and get a normal Toblerone than something that looks like a fucking Aldi version of it.
As expected, complete and utter bollocks, but what do you expect? In relative terms a chocy bar isn't important, certainly not enough to gather sufficient info to discover what Tobler junkies actually want and are willing to pay for. I'm rather fond of Lindt's 'creation' range, especially the 'refreshing lemon' and 'creme brulee' bars, but should they alter the composition of either I'm off to find another brand that doesn't fuck with my allegiance.
