Absolutely delusional idiots:

Has a pop about our different colours and fonts then posts this picture, honestly can’t get my breath the delusion is reaching unprecedented levels

The corner next to their away end is rarely available.

But the eye test should tell you that their Kop is much bigger. As is their North Stand.

Our family stand is actually pretty small and the corner between that and our Kop is poorly built.
Their kop hold a thousand more ,so not much bigger. and they don't fill it

"Covered in cladding"
"Covered in tarpaulin"

Same vibes.

I always thought it was about 2,500 more. Maybe just a steeper rake gives off that impression?

Where do they make up the 6-7k extra seats then?

It's a legendary car/ stadium and is arguably something to be proud of

That's an argument I'm prepared to have. It's a fucking dump and shitty bits of BDTBL don't change that. They've done very little to it since fucking ages ago and it's awful.

Ours 10200 there's 11200 and there true capacity is now only 2.5 k higher because it's a unsafe dump

I felt proud Bramall Lane was chosen as a host stadium for this tournament and as a Blade I can fully understand why it was chosen over Hillsborough.

A friend of mine from down south went to Uni for 4 years in Sheffield and visited both grounds on many occasions despite the distance to get to Hillsborough. I got chatting to him before the Forest PO game as he was in Sheffield for a reunion. He said the main difference between the two grounds for a neutral (he said we probably take it for granted) was the fan experience, the experience as a football fan being in the centre of a great city with plenty of great pubs as opposed to being in Hillsborough what he described as a “satellite town” outside of Sheffield. Aside from that he said Bramall Lane was superior in terms of modernisation, pitch and infrastructure. He said Hillsborough felt desolate but that had a lot to do with the fact there was small attendances when he went because of the differing league positions between the two clubs.

I can’t believe so many on here are even remotely interested in Hillsborough comparisons. They would need to spend huge amounts to bring their ground up to premier league standards let alone UEFA standards for tournaments like this.

The fact that Rotherham, Man City academy and Leigh were better placed to host than Hillsborough says all we need to know about their ground.

North Stand is bigger than our South Stand by around 2k (sure it’s about 10k). Their South Stand is probably 4k bigger than JSS too.

Edit; from Wiki.

Kop - 11,200
North - 9,255
South - 11,352
Leppings Lane - 6,658
Death trap corner - 1,337

So probably the biggest difference is that the John Street stand is quite small, to say it’s along the side of the pitch.

I have been saying the same for years it is always the last few thousand seats that are hardest to sell, netted off seats for segregation, restricted views, only single seats left all make them harder to sell. 90% full is about all we can do if away fans don't travel in numbers. Oh and then there are stupid decisions to give away fans the BLUT. We should aim to hold 40k in the lane it would encourage attendances of 35-40k if we were doing well even at Championship level.

And add the ridiculous situation of neutral or casual fans not being able to get a ticket.
My cousin lives in the Republic of Ireland, Sheffield born and bred and a season ticket holder for a few years years up until about thirty years ago when he left Sheffield.

He comes home for a visit occasionally and can't get a ticket.

Remove the posts from kop and I'm happy with our stadium, I love its a good old fashioned proper stadium!

The Leigh one is the interesting one. Its basically four bits of concrete attached to a sports centre in a town in the middle of nowhere that no one has ever been to.

Yeah our family stand is quite small.
Fairly decent facilities though and of course houses most of our corporate boxes.

Our away end and Westfield Corner is far better and tidier than theirs.

It really is just our Kop which really lets the stadium down.

For those who say we don't need more capacity at the lane ask yourselves why we are maxed out on season ticket holders.
Got to laugh at the piggies angst that the sty has fallen into disrepair and dereliction, why should they be bothered they don't even own the dump.
At best it is a rather large but tired Championship level stadium with a lot of flaws and problems. It is nowhere near Premier league standards never mind UEFA standard.
Do they even have VAR at the sty? Rotherham now have floodlights that are better than the mobile phone lights down pigsborough.
Joke club stuck in the early 90's which was probably the last time they received any free building work on their stands.

No one gives a shit about stand sizes except anyone at S6, and also even their main grandstand is badly designed with weird half steps all over it.
The turnstiles on lepers lane are still a museum piece and potential deathtrap. Their North Stand has plenty of asbestos at the back of it. Never been on their kop so cant say but I expect its bobbins.

It should all be condemned probably, or have the actual capacities vastly reduced, but the bungs to SCC and the Tankerlsey Golf Club masons still have plenty of sway at the FA to stop this occurring.

I agree that our John Street stand is relatively small but the fan facilities arent bad and its modern-ish and safe.

Who said anything about what bollocks he's dropped? He simply doesn't have the financial clout to expand the stadium, i'm not in any way slagging him off whatsoever 🙄
None of us know how much the guy has in reality, from reports from previous seasons in the premier he was a “poorer” owner compared to many but that wouldn’t stop him slightly expanding or renovating parts of the stadium is we were extensively successful,up to now there has been improvements made, hence the womens euros and the comments made about the stadium, even the scruffy backward bastards across the city begrudgingly acknowledge it,even with gritted teeth

Registers online. Buys a ticket on general sale. Not hard !

We don’t need to increase capacity until we’re consistently selling out over a number of years. That only comes with playing in the premier league. Weirdly in many ways as games are often at inconvenient times in the prem (something which filters down to the Championship now).

However, this tournament has proven why we must always keep our ground modern and to never let it get into state of disrepair like some other grounds locally.

I think there’s a wider argument for moving grounds like ours to a supporters trust rather than owned by the owner. But that’s a different discussion

Bramall Lane is one of the last bastions of the great English football stadiums. St James' Park, Old Trafford, The City Ground in Nottingham. Hillsborough if it had a big modernisation.

There's not many left, but due to proximity to the city centre I'd put it joint top with Newcastle if I'm trying to not be biased.

Absolutely delusional idiots:

Oh the jealousy! They just can't stand it and will say anything to make themselves feel better, while nit-picking about BDTBL to distract from their falling down shed of a ground 🤣🤣🤣

If two people want to buy match tickets and be sat together at the lane their only options are on the south stand side of the kop or the BLUT all other areas of the ground only have a few single seats available for purchase. We will only have around 5k seats for pay on the day/casual fans so if your kids suddenly decide they want to go regular then you might be struggling, it all deters a 100% take up of capacity

The 🐷🐷🐷 grunting on about how much bigger the Old Slag is makes me laugh.

About 4,000 higher in capacity or so.

How anyone can say that a ground that has areas off limits due to safety notices is better than Bramall Lane.... Hahaha. Fucking clowns.

They only tidy up their ground if they get govt grants. (Wc66, euro96)

We've done it all ourselves (bar I think the VAR side of stuff)

The bitterness and jealousy from Wendy fans is absolutely laughable, you can sense the jealousy in every little snidey comment they make. The glorious success of using Sheffield and the Lane in this tournie will not have gone unnoticed by the FA and UEFA only putting us in good stead for the future.

Meanwhile their dilapidated ground is getting rustier and rustier and having visitors knock around in Hillsborough park wasteland and Parsons cross instead of division street, would have been an absolute travesty.

Ultimately they can say what they want. UEFA and the FA think otherwise and that’s what matters.
Exactly. I would concentrate on getting the floodlights to work and opening the parts of the ground that are TOO FUCKING DANGEROUS AT THE MINUTE. if I were them.

They have had new floodlights installed for this coming season.
