This isn't what I asked for you twat.

;)

I love that phrase delivered with just enough of a pause so that it tags onto the end of a veiled insult so that it conceals the primary motive of a comment.

Reminds me of the character in House of Fools, who plays Bob's brother

That's a brilliant article. John Garrett is so passionate about the Blades and their history.

Bramall Lane, the Lane or BDTBL is very special. I just love the place. Although the club have improved its profile recently I feel they are just scratching the surface when promoting its importance in giving football to the world.

Happy 160th BDTBL

I don't think the powers that be in Sheffield realise what they have in their own city centre, mainly thanks to snout coloured bias. The Lane should have many more prestige events held there, the ground itself is excellent (the Kop could and should be better mind) and the location is a prime place for any fan attending. Roll off trains and buses in the city centre and you're 5 mins walk from BL, city centre hotels and parking is plentiful and again only 5 mins walk away. If I was a fan from out of town going to the Lane, either for the day or weekend, you cannot go wrong. Can't think of many other major cities where the ground is that close to the city centre.

There should more top level stuff going on at the Lane, concerts, world championship boxing, Blades in the top tier, if Eagles get to Super League get them playing there, internationals. When England were going for the World Cup the Lane should have been a shoe-in.

Good point about location - it definitely was a factor in me coming back after my first impulsive match in January... that said, 5 minutes' walk from the station is a little optimistic - more like 15, or 20 if you dawdle, but still, it's very good to get to.

Pretty sure it takes that long to get to the Pigsty on the tram, let alone walking ;)

(I went there once on my first visit to Sheffield in 2010 for a few days for something unrelated to football when I wanted something to do in the evening, so that's how I know it's a fairly long tram ride even tho I'm not from the city)

Okay under 10 minutes ;)

Walked from Notts train station to Trent Bridge a few times last summer, took around 20 mins. Lane to our train station seems much nearer in comparison.
