Watching games on screens, taking screenshots. and spewing out Stats as and when is no substitute for being at games.

You get to see the "bigger" picture. Surely you must accept that ?

Now, if the "ignorant" jibe is even remotely directed at moi, I would also suggest it is equally ignorant to suggest Hanson has played a bigger part in our success than has actually been the case. We were well on course for a top 2 spot before Hanson arrived.

Contrary to "expert" opinion, he doesn't wear a cape !!

I think you are doing a disservice to Bergen there pal. His tactical analysis is incredibly astute to the point where I would believe he is employed at some level professionally in the sport. His contributions are one of things I look out for most on here. To belittle his acumen as 'watching games on screens, taking screenshots. and spewing out stats' is wrong.

But of course it is 'wrong' when it disproves your tedious agenda.

Dronnie-'so-called'-Blade has made it clear Hanson offers nothing and will not respect Wilder's decision to play him.

Poor old BB is just a victim of collateral damage in the War on Hanson.

According to the Egil Olsen manual that is.

That's not a bible I worship.

Our opinions differ. Big deal. Neither of us is right or wrong.

Disproves (or proves) nowt.

I've said it before, if Hanson plays anything other than a bit part role next year, we are toast.

That's my assertion. Time will tell. I've put myself out there. Will others have the same conviction ??

Your other personal comments are, bluntly, pathetic and unworthy of response.

Ok, I'll stick my neck out.

£20 for the Children's Hospital says Hanson will feature in 20+ games and we will stay up.

You are entitled to your own interpretation about that.

Of course the above line conveniently stops you from having to accept that CW knows more about Hanson than you do and values him far more.

Bergen is Norwegian. Egil Olsen is Norwegian. Therefore Bergen and Egil Olsen have the same outlook on football. That's some sound logic you've got there.

Hi Bolton fan here, I'm hoping Bradford can come up with both us and Sheffield United, proper football club. There's no doubt that our 3 teams are the biggest in the division. However I wish my club didn't rip off our fans and followed a similar pricing strategy to what you guys have been doing! If it is play offs, good luck to you guys.

Dear oh dear.

£100 that if Hanson plays >30 games ,starting a minimum of 20, we will get relegated.

That conviction enough for ya ?

UTB

PS ask London Road about Charity bets B4 you take this on ;)

No. not really as I think you and I both know that he won't start 20.

Why would I wish to attempt to converse with a major arterial road into the City Centre - please tell me more?

So what part of nothing more than a bit part role wasn't clear ?

Would you accept that a player making 20+ appearances from off the bench averaging say 15 mins a time would be considered bit part ??

Do you think I would make a bet with anyone in these circumstances ?

Does your lack of conviction in Hanson starting 20 games next season speak volumes ?

Marvelous! A pissing competition about what constitutes a 'bit part'.....

I said 20 games, but I'll increase it to 23 which is HALF of the games. I don't think he will start all of these so I can only sensibly say he will 'feature' in them. This may mean 15 minutes from the bench or likely more, as you know how well CW uses substitutes.

I would have thought most people would consider a player being involved in half the games would have made a 'significant' contribution (and not a 'bit part'), albeit often coming off the bench.

Do you think I would make a bet with anyone in these circumstances ?

I haven't got a clue, but your anti-Hanson views are so extreme that to be honest I thought you'd bite my hand off.

No, It says I don't think CW will start him in 20 games.

I still rate his contribution this season and think he has a part to play next season but I doubt he will be an automatic choice. If that is 'volumes' then okay, you win.

I'll tell you what. I'll happily put £20 in the Kids charity, whatever the outcome. It would be, and always is, a pleasure.

But I will come back to you, and others, for your opinion on what exactly Hanson brought to our season 2017/ 2018. Whatever amount of pitch time he gets.

My prediction is the square root of Fuck All. Maybe I'll be wrong ?

Don't rush.

It will be broken record time again, if your view on his contribution this season is anything to go by,

What you mean 1 goal in 12 ?
Not the role of a target man I hear you cry !
So how many assists ??
As far as impact on the TEAM goes, as has been pointed out, I wonder what his impact has been on Billy's mini goal drought ?
What Paul Coutts is thinking every time the ball sails over his head ?
What Freeman thinks about pinging high and hopeful balls up when he has, as we have seen, got so much more to offer in terms of progressive build up play ?

As I say, time will tell. But you should know I have a diary note for end April 2018 to resurrect this conversation, as my conviction is absolute.

I think the argument being made is that his arrival has helped to add something to our squad which was perhaps lacking to some extent before. Having a big, physical, hardworking forward who knows his limitations and keeps it simple is useful at this level. Maybe less so at the next one. I agree he’s not a “natural footballer” or “proper footballer” as that seems to be the hot catchphrase just now but he has his uses. We agreed previously that he was a handy plan B whereas more often than not we’d both prefer someone like Lavery to start alongside Sharp. I think the point is between Sharp, Hanson, Lavery and Clarke, we have a bit of everything in our strikeforce. As you go higher, you need to be able to combine more attributes in one player with less weaknesses to their game and I’m hopeful we will sign a player who can mix it physically like Hanson but who is mobile and has a bit of skill like Lavery. These strikers aren’t easy to come by mind.

But whilst acknowledging his limitations and the weaknesses in the Hanson, Sharp partnership, we should also acknowledge the positive contributions he’s made. He’s more than just “big”. He’s hardworking, a team player, strong, brave and good at reading the flight of the ball to ensure he gets his head on it to flick on (Sharp doesn’t really make the most of that as it’s not his game). Connor Sammon was big but lacked those attributes that Hanson brings though neither scores as many as we would like. I think Hanson would be a very useful partner for someone like Steve Kabba in his day.

This is fucking Groundhog Day. All season we've been trying to find a partner for Billy and all season we've been debating the qualities of Billy's partners. We know what Done brought to the game and what he didn't. We know what Hanson brings to the game and what he doesn't. Repeating it daily won't change anything.

Repeating it daily won't change anything.

It is having an affect on my will to live though.

Some folk just can't enjoy what we have and be content (for the first time in years).

The knife still has to go in on the perceived scapegoats - it's the 'Bladesway'.

I think Hanson was a decent addition to the squad, 150k for a natural, if limited, target man who could also do a job in our own box. Wilder saw what we needed and sorted it out. That said it got me thinking about how much Brian Dean would be worth in todays market - pace, power, great in the air, superb touch, eye for a goal - on his day he would walk in to most premiership sides today - Andy Carroll went for 35 million!!!
