Yeah but it’s guaranteed to have cost £20m to install but the cameras are solar powered to meet net zero with the solar panel being in the shade so they only work 1 hour a daySo the council who seem determined to destroy our city are finally doing something right.
I hope it's a £1000 fine and 10 points.
But other than that?Yeah but it’s guaranteed to have cost £20m to install but the cameras are solar powered to meet net zero with the solar panel being in the shade so they only work 1 hour a day
Oh and the cameras have been installed upside down, facing the wrong way
A great success as it will catch lots of people parked on their drivewaysBut other than that?

"What's a box junction?"For anyone that travels on Queens road to turn up myrtle road be aware that council are turning on new cameras to pick up anyone blocking box junction
It happens loads at rush hour. When the traffic backs up due to the 400 sets of traffic lights (sequenced by a moron) between Queens Road and Woodseats, loads of drivers keep coming through, sitting in the yellow box and blocking the exits from Havelock Bridge and Shoreham Street.Strange decision IMO. I travel quite a bit through that area and I've never noticed a problem with the junction being blocked. The one at Abbeydale Rd/ Broadfield Rd however........
You get fined if you’re NOT in the box junction.Yeah but it’s guaranteed to have cost £20m to install but the cameras are solar powered to meet net zero with the solar panel being in the shade so they only work 1 hour a day

The whole stretch of Abbeydale from there to Abbey Lane has diabolical junctions/timed lights/lack of lights. I think the right turns onto either Archer Lane or Woodseats Road are the worst. They want to put box junction cameras on the broadfield road/abbeydale road/sheldon road traffic lights box junction, mind you traffick light settings are ridiculous, at the abbeydale road south/archer road/bannerdale road, the average on green time is about 15-20 seconds, red light time 40-45 seconds.
Morons the council are.
I have said this on many an occasion - Whoever is in charge of sequencing the traffic lights in Sheffield is a complete cock-socket.They want to put box junction cameras on the broadfield road/abbeydale road/sheldon road traffic lights box junction, mind you traffick light settings are ridiculous, at the abbeydale road south/archer road/bannerdale road, the average on green time is about 15-20 seconds, red light time 40-45 seconds.

Unless you're turning right blah, bler, blah
That’s assuming that they are capable of stringing more than two words together…….one of which will be ‘Like’"What's a box junction?"
Said by 85% of the fucking idiots who use our roads nowadays.

That’s an odd bus number. What route does it take?In that case I must remember to take the DB5 to the match tomorrow...
I have said this on many an occasion - Whoever is in charge of sequencing the traffic lights in Sheffield is a complete cock-socket.
For every change of traffic lights, there is a period of time where nothing is moving. Therefore, if you make them change too frequently you are increasing the time where nothing is moving. I travel the country for my job, and have found no other town or city with such moronically sequenced traffic lights as Sheffield.
It's almost as if SCC are trying to stop us using our cars![]()
