Yet again watching the highlights from that match.

Another thing that I laugh at about the match is when Wallace hoofs the ball down field to Stevens, we all shout HOOOOOOF

Then Stevens launches it up field and then the pig fans shout HOOOOOOF in retaliation. But then Clarke receives it and slots it in the back of the fucking net

I know that Duffy's goal will always be the ONE that is remembered in years to come and Fleck's started the party but for me Clarke's first was probably the funniest. Partly for the reasons you have set out but also the look on his face when he jogs past their Kop and you see all the angry piggies get up and shout pelters at him. Add to that the 'Wednesday reject' chant they gave him on the way in. Lastly seeing Carlos shell shocked, asking the 4th official to check for offside.:D

"You're not bouncing anymore."

But my favourite taunt towards the pigs last season came during the 0-0 at BDTBL, Sparks' debut. He was stood in the dugout stroking his moustache or whatever and the Kop launched into a hearty rendition of "What the fucking hell is that?"

One of my favourite bits is right at the final whistle, the utd fans singing the city is ours and at more or less the exact time they finish the song the ref blew the whistle! Watch back and listen!

Most things in life you get bored off, I never do watching that .

Not only did we destroy their bounce, I think that one result destroyed their whole season. Until that game they were doing Ok, even during the game for the one minute they were bouncing they must have felt they could not just win, but maybe have a good season. Then the bouncing Day destroyer strikes the goal of the season and sends the whole of S6 into oblivion. That one goal will be remembered for ever. Never have I watched the highlights of a match so often. If ever I feel down, I just watch it again.

The bit that always makes me chuckle in the Shoreham View vlog is the bit when they are bouncing and one of the Blades is singing "if you all do a bounce then you're a gay..... you're a gay....... you're a gay". Childish jibes at their absolute best.

They'd only lost 1 and would have gone above us with a win. The loss totally crushed them and they still haven't really recovered from it. Who knows how their season would have gone if they had won and gained the confidence we did. Obviously we eventually slid down the table but that win put the club on such a high that it took us to the top of the table. If we had lost we may have had a different season altogether.

It was a really pivotal game in how it signified the changing fortunes of the two . Up until that point they were absolutely convinced they were far better than us. None of them realistically think that now.

You'd think all these months later, after watching it dozens of times, my eyes wouldn't fill with tears anymore when the 4th went in........nope!
I guess that's someone who experienced the pain of Boxing Day 79 for you!! :)
Oh yes GCB
You had to suffer the pain to realize how much that win actually meant
Sure they’ve been other victories over the pigs
But not only on TV but international on Sky
And to be shown up in there own death trap and “borrowing “ from them they couldn’t even sell it out
We Almost Won At Wembley wankers

I havent cried at many matches but when Duffy's goal went in I did and even now get a lump in my throat when I watch the highlights

Leading up to the game , "they have Clarke and fleck I am worried" type comments, laughing at us coming up from the pub league with pub league players against there hugely expensive players who have been involved in top six finishes the previous two seasons, bigging it up how huge they are while conveniently forgetting where they were just a few years previous, what the day reminds me of is how I cannot watch or listen when we play them away so I went for a walk and when we scored the Fourth I was talking to my son on my phone,he screamed with joy as he was listening to it, I leapt in the air screaming and shouting ,people walking past, in cars staring at me and me shouting something along the lines of we have just scored a goal but a tad stronger, brilliant memory , sorry about that started rambling along there whilst remembering the day.

The commentator saying 'I hope it's worth the wait' just before Fleck's free kick :) :)

I watched the game on London road but we had no commentary. I’ve always been convinced that when we watch highlights on match of the day (or other highlight shows) they dub the commentary in after. How many times do we see a corner and the commentator say “this would be a perfect time for a goal” and then score?? But watching the game back the commentator nailed it. It was a good minute before he hit the ball. Watching it back it seems to take a good 5.

I'm fairly certain they do the commentary after the game. I've often thought the same thing as you with regards to the "this would be a perfect time to score" thing.

Another one that happened in live commentary was in the 3-1 Michael Brown derby at The Lane where, just as were about to take the FK that led to Brownies goal, the commentator said "It's 1-1, it's a cracker, what's gonna happen next? Who knows?"

So many great memories of that day. Obviously the ‘bounce slayer’ goal but one of the best is the image of the two mascots slumped on the floor.

LMFAO and then some :D:D:D

One of my favourites is of one video from the lower tier as Duffy scores. The camera pans round and you can see a black guy doing the gun fingers on the top tier. Always cracks me up

Yep, that’s one of them as well.

In hindsight wish I’d been there that day, but my thinking was I’d done that rust bucket a few times and was happy enough to watch it on the telly.

But when you know the outcome, it doesn't really matter :)

Hindsight's a wonderful thing! I'm guessing you'll be going this season though?!

I do love how the highlight video is the fourth most viewed on Wednesday's YouTube channel. Who thought putting 12 min extended highlights of you getting beaten by your closet rivals was a good idea.

I thought it was just me!

I was somewhere in Grindleford I think when Duffy scored.

Nope, no chance of getting a ticket.

Doubt it. Couldn’t afford to renew although plan on getting a half season ticket.

That's the problem with the reduced allocation for both sets of fans for the away games. I wish both clubs had agreed to keep it as it was but on the other hand its great to have less Wednesday fans in and more United when we play them at the Lane!
