For the first time all season, Middlesbrough will be in a different mindset now.

Let's see if they can handle a bit of pressure.

Come on The Super Hoops!

Weird game this.

Boro in fantastic form...best of the season
QPR in terrible form....worse of the season.

On paper it's seems an obvious 3 or 4-0 to Boro but we all know football can be a funny game.
You suspect the Boro players will be on a fantastic high and believe they only need to turn up to win.
These games can be tougher than you think.....let's hope QPR can pull off a surprise....doubt it though.

I don't think there is any additional pressure on them yet until if they get closer.

They'll be starting to think that they can catch us now.

For the past couple of months they've just been floating along enjoying a good run of form with us miles ahead of them.

It's funny how the perspective can change in football when suddenly there's something at stake.

20 minutes in and Boro haven't even had a shot at goal yet with only 1 corner.
Where as QPR have a shot on goal and had 2 corners.

Sounds like Boro have started slowly, probably thinking it's going to be easy.

Bit like us then.

Gap down to 4 points but still have a game in hand on them, does anyone know when we play it?

Have to get the 3 points from it though!

7th March.

We have Watford and Blackburn before then. Middlesbrough have WBA and Reading.

Intensity athleticism organisation committment and belief.

Just watched our game then Boro this afternoon. Enlightening.

They are streets ahead on all those things.

Unless we up our game massively, I anticipate we are not going up.

13 points clear a few weeks ago.
Boardroom nonsense can't be helping but fuck me why do we always do this.

You can bet your life them pigs won't be chucking it away.

If Boro win 11 of of the last 13 ( which on current form they might do) you could argue they deserve to go up.
However, if we average just over 2 points a game we would t be caught.

Problem is, the way Boro are playing they could win their last 13

I don’t think there’s any argument; if Boro win 11 of their last 13, they deserve to go up - full stop. They might do.
Or they might miss out by a single goal, and then lose on penalties to Sunderland in the play-off final. Which would be a shame for them.

Akpom £2.3m , Brewster £23m

Fine margins ? Not really

Akpom signed for a (then) mid to top end championship team.

Brewster signed for a PL team looking for stability.

Brewster has also been injured a lot of his time here.

Ripe for comparison? Not really.

Brewster been here long enough injured or not to see he’s wank

Boro currently have the momentum , energy , a rampant forward line & midfield , belief and confidence , a united board with an owner who provides clarity and continued investment.

Boro have created the above for themselves when until very recently to overhaul us looked impossible

We currently have nervousness , no pace whatsoever , doubt , a clumsy / disjointed / pedestrian / dis-engaged midfield , an inconsistent forward line ,an owner who is providing no leadership or investment and wants out to anyone who says they want buy .

Utd have created the above for ourselves when until very recently to be reeled in looked impossible

We have , internally , pressed the self destruct / self harm button - embargo due to non payment of debts , engaging with a far from credible potential buyer over a protracted period of time , not investing in playing stock at a crucial time to help the manager and squad, leaving Hecky to face everything single handedly. All this when 14 points clear and the prize of at least circa £270 / £300m in our grasp.

There is a saying in business - Every organisation is perfectly designed to get the results it gets - see above

We have engaged in self defeating behaviour , especially off the pitch - if we do blow it most of the blame will be down to the inept running of the club above PH , particularly over recent weeks . We were made to feel delighted that we hadn't sold any players in the TW , PH has over performed IMO but they are running out of steam .

Not looking good

What’s Brewsters longest run of starts outside the PL. Five? Six?

That’s long enough to determine he’s wank then yeah? So why’s McB starting?

Agree with most of it, but the first team management team will also be accountable as well.

63 appearances, 5 goals for his united career is enough to determine he's wank imo. OR 16 games, 1 goal and 1 assist this season. However you jazz it up. It's the same result.

True - but they haven't been helped

It`s no co-incidence that our most reliable and most played players - Egan , Norwood and IN are looking absolutely knackered - they should have been rested recently but this hasn't happened and is having a massive detrimental effect on performances

Brewster has been here for over 3 years ,played 57 times with 4 goals . Remember Wilder wasn’t playing him a lot and then this injury business started. As I said ,wank.
As for friend McB also pretty wank , but because the owner has given up on us and the squad not been strengthened ,he is picked because there is literally nobody else . When he’s not injured of course.

We really could do with an owner/chairman like Steve Gibson, rather than an absent chancer like the Prince or Dozy.

gibson basically max's out our finances without breaking ffp. losing 15million a year of his own money. all the depts are to him. its his choice to run like that. he gives us every chance to succeed. hes made many poor footballing decisions. but looks like that has been corrected now. hes brought a dof in. looks like he(kieran scott) is calling the shots on the football side now.

we were poor first half today. very sloppy and struggled to get going. second half was different, back to normal. we gave starts to barlaser, ramsey and mcnair. howson forss and fry rested. the rotation payed off, we got the win. thats all that matters. points win prizes.
should have rested more. i think midweek game has drained a few of them. a week rest to recharge and go again. tough game at west brom.
