First visit and traveling with the lively bunch that will be going on the official club coaches. It's a prerequisite for being allowed to take my 4yr old son to his first away match (as opposed to being allowed to travel with a more boisterous group as it were).

Considering the coaches will be traveling right up to the ground, where is the best place to get a couple of sherbets.....

As for the ground. I assume there's beer at half time. Will be a few years but any good in that regard.

It's in the middle of nowhere and suspect they won't be selling beer in the ground.

Try:

There are a few food places within Middlebrook itself, Frankie & Benny's etc, you could get a drink there as long as you don't mind eating as well.

Thanks. Beehive it is. Nowt against a 15 minute walk. Prob have about 2 hours to kill! Forgot about the football ground guide. All good!
The Royal Oak on Chorley Road (it's about the same distance from the ground as The Bee Hive) lets in away fans I believe.

Beehive is very big, so would be a decent option, but The Royal Oak is usually mainly away fans.

Hi fellow Blade.I live pretty close so well familiar .It may be worth trying a Pub called The Lion of Vienna which is on the way to the ground on Chorley New Road.It is a Sam Smiths with 1.95 a pint Smiths Keg, serves food and has outside seating too. So you could have a few sherbets and jump back on't coach and be 5 mins to ground if your driver is up for it.Other than that Horwich itself has a few pubs that are decent but a good 20 mins walk from the Macron, unless of course you parked somewhere then drove after wards to the game. My mobile is 07772 251262 if you need any further help and want to speak. More options too if you need them.Cheers , Paul.

Yoonited, we're on the train and were thinking of heading into Bolton itself is that recommended or are we best heading elsewhere?

You going Traffs?
Fraid not, I limit myself to the Lane due to family commitments. The Reebok (as was) is probably the ground that I've been to most since moving over here but never to see United - a customer used to sponsor Bolton and would invite me to a game each year. All well and good when it was Arsenal, not quite so appealing when it was a Championship Club on a midweek evening!

Ah, well - will have to track you down at a home match, then.
Not sure which one I can get to next but will give you a bell or txt to sort.
Enjoy your weekend :)

08:47 from Nottingham for me, think we'll eventually be heading to the Beehive

I'm guessing this is the right thread to ask what Pokémon are in or near the Macron.
