Booing vs. Barnsley

I remember when Stephen Quinn was booed once as his name was read out. Next match everyone in the ground responded with a huge roar.
That's the way this should be responded to

I think McBurnie gets his fair share of encouragement from the majority of our fans. Any boos ( I didn't hear any) would have been from the same cunts that hounded a young George Long out of the club.

Some think it might have been Barnsley fans booing an ex player.

Or maybe its a new chant McBoooooooooornie

What was everyone expecting? Four stands belting out “he’s our striker” Flares going off, conga lines, massive Oli McBurnie scores goals banner floating round kop? I’m surprised it’s took this long tbh, McBurnie reacted to it in the best possible way by playing the best he’s ever played for us, should we boo him more? He might feed off it 🤔
I’m sorry but that’s rubbish. What are we expecting? We’re expecting to clap him on like the rest of the players get? Booing gets the best out of him what a load of tosh.

You try coming on in front of 28,000 at 25 years old and being booed by your own fans.

On the kop and heard nothing around me. Certainly heard a bit of noise from the 6 fingered sibling shaggers though

The sound on SUTV is terrible at the best of times, but today it’s was even worse than normal. Anyway, Asaba said after the game that fans had booed McBurnie when he came on. I couldn’t hear it, but I couldn’t hear sod all most of the time. Can any fans at the game shed light on it?
I think it may have been Barnsley that were booing

We were expecting him not to be booed, hence the thread and the reaction most have had to it.

I too heard some booing from the kop - not my thing mind
Probably people on minimum wage feeling that they're in the wrong job...

On row EE on the kop, definitely booing from the back of the kop when mcburnie came on, no player deserves that, really glad he played well & got an assist today

frustrating thing is the idiots that did it will wake up in the morning coke and booze free and not actually realise they booed him. Unfortunately the let’s video ourselves at half time off our head brigade that follow us.

I assumed it was the dingles but I definitely heard some.

It was more laughter around me when he stripped ready to come on. He’s become a parody figure unfortunately.

He did ok when he came on though.
He has unfortunately, the poor lad, although he does seem to play with clown size shoes on when he falls over. Look I’m doing it now, parodying him, not falling over. The poor lad

I sit on the Kop and there were definitely boos around the Kop when he came on. Only a minority but boos are louder than applause.

There was a couple of blokes booing him from around Row AA 50's on the kop nothing too vociferous though.

Perhaps it was the kop booing them in response to their booing.
Boo-gate raises its ugly head again.

Bloke next to me used to boo Bobby Ford every time his name was read out. I got extremely angry with him and told him to stop it but he completely ignored me and carried on with this bad and disrespectful behaviour. It annoyed me so much I had to change my seat and sit somewhere else in the ground.

John street is the traditional home for the boo boys, even heard them boo TC and Woody in their pomp, so soulless saddo's are not a new thing.

Thanks all for the replies. Sounds like a tiny little bit of booing from our side, but not a widespread thing.

He did well today, and a simultaneously lovely and clumsy-as-hell assist.

He’s been poor this season, but there are a few factors for that, some his responsibility, some not so much. We’re gonna need him to perform, and we’re gonna need that bond between fans and players. Booing doesn’t help.

Glad to hear it’s just a few idiots.
