I agree.
Billy Sharp is now evil incarnate.

No... but what makes United fans the evil incarnate for indulging in a bit of pantomime?

Billy can do or say as he pleases yet the United fans voice a little bit of displeasure about the way he's gone about things and suddenly, the behaviour police are all over them.

I don't like the downright abuse the lad's getting, he's just doing his job at the end of the day. But as mentioned earlier, a bit of the pantomime stuff in football is what keeps the sport interesting. Even gentlemen partake in a little sledging when playing cricket.

Rich footballer taking the piss needs defending.

Poor Blades fan with an opinion different to yours.....patronise at any chance you get?

Ok son?

How ANY Blade can defend fat boy is beyond me. He plays for the opposition. He scores 2 goals against us putting us more in the shit. He gauds the fans. For me is a class A prat and rubbish ex united player. Please don't come on here defending the indefensible. You make yourselves look silly.

Aye Linz, but that's all it is, isn't it - pantomime.
Looked to me that was pretty much Sharp's approach to it.
Not so for some of our less sharp supporters.

Tosser.... good riddance to lower league rubbish.

his stats are starting to prove that he isn't lower league rubbish. he got garbage treatment from Blackwell and is now putting them away again.

correct lenners!

Pantomime my eye. It was a deliberate, pre meditated attempt to taunt United fans. Look at the game in Doncaster in October. He was wearing a shirt that said 'Fat lad from Sheffield.' He'd obviously put some thought into it beforehand.

Here is a bloke earning probably about £8k a week and people are defending him. Give me £8k a week and I'll sit in shit upto me neck.

the shirt was in response to a comment from bootwell not the fans.. i can assure you that he 'is' a sheffield united fan.. it's funny watching the same types going on about 'adams is a blade' are the same ones saying that now it suddenly doesn't matter and the only thing that does is that they are wearing an opposition shirt.. make your mind up lads.. like i said before.. i'd hoped we'd show a bit more class in the situation:rolleyes:

ASk yourself ,if you scored against Utd would you react like Sharp did today ? Unforgivable.

Well, perhaps now Blackwell isn't at the club anymore, and wasn't in October, there was no need to make a point to Blackwell, was there? Blade my arse.

Unforgivable, nowt like an over reaction! what ian huntley did was unforgivable, sharp was a little bit mischievous. Being a local lad he will still get to hear what plenty of blades think of him after his 2nd spell at the club. The majority of pro footballers won't give a shit who they score against, it is a job at the end of the day and he'll have picked up 2 more goal bonuses today for that so good on him. He's sat at home counting his money whilst people are having hissy fits on the internet, i know who has had the last laugh

Join a message board discussing ian huntley then, not Sheffield United football club.

>a comment from O' Driscoll?
i got the impression he was paraphrasing the original by bootwell
anyhow.. some of you guys should cool down a bit.. honestly.. anyone would think he'd shot bob geldof :D

Micky Adams used to play for United juniors. He later became manager of Port Vale and was seen to break into a smile when his team knocked Sheffield United out of the League Cup.
True story.
Boo Micky Adams.

Denis Law, Paul Peschisolido and Kenwyne Jones have all showed how you react to scoring against your former employers.
Billy did it all wrong.

I don't know about anyone else but if I won a penalty against United after already scoring, I wouldn't want to take it as a United fan.

I'd have to throw the ball to someone else and tell the captain I couldn't take it as it was a conflict of interest.

Out of interest too, I didn't boo him. I called him a short arsed little wanker that will never be good enough to play for the club he loves.

Prehaps he did all the taunting and gesturing because he was upset at the lack of any sort of acknowledgement to his name being read out prior to kick off? No clapping, no booing, just indifference. Exactly like the 2 seasons he spent on the pitch for us.

There's plenty of older blades on here, (I'm 27) that have watched United in all 4 Divisions. Can anyone recall a striker with such a poor goal record getting such a honeymoon period from the fans? I can't at all, but perhaps some of the older heads could remember?

Not in direct reply to your ridiculous non-sequitur, but...

When the Vale played W*dnesday in the League Cup earlier this season, he was interviewed on Midlands Today about family connections in Sheffield and what it would be like to beat the oinkers. He said that yes, it was true, he had family from the dark side and went up loads in my estimation, but I'm not sure many midlanders understood quite what he meant.

Are you talking about Ched Evans?
Particularly enjoyed his header back to Sullivan today.
