Bolton are understood to be monitoring Paddy Kenny, as they look set to let Jussi Jaaskelainen leave the club.

Trotters boss Sammy Lee has also been linked with Scott Carson as they consider potential new goalkeeping options.

Bolton do not want to lose Jaaskelainen, but they are ready to accept the Finn's seeming desire to leave the Reebok Stadium

Now it is believed that Bolton have joined the race for Kenny, who is also being tracked by Sunderland, Aston Villa and Wigan.

Kenny is set to hold talks with new Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson about his long-term future.

Robson is almost certain to see Kenny's as his first choice for next season, so it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to let the Irishman leave.

Should Jaaskelainen's future be resolved, with Sunderland looking favourites to beat the likes of Villa to his signature in the coming days, then Bolton could indeed test United's resolve.

Stay Paddy! hopefully talks with robson will go wel

its things like this that are going to contiue until all this tiring debate over the west ham saga are resolved.

Starting to grind on me, at this rate we will be starting pre-season not knowing who will/wont be at BDTBL next season, let alone which league we will be playing in

For me, he can go. Average keeper who is prone to mistakes, terrible kicking and generally just not that good.

Mr optimism strikes again.

Who are we going to get in in his place?

Never mind who we'd get in his place, are we going to have a reserve keeper at some point, especially if/when Jags goes?

Or are we going to rely on Jamie Annerson?

Its realism, he really did nothing last season to be worth an improved contract.

The lad from Hull would be my preffered choice, Myhill.

I agree that he didn't do anything to earn an improved contract. He proved himself an excellent shot-stopper most of the time but some of his other goalkeeping skills came up short and he made some basic errors.
There are plenty of good shot-stoppers around so if it's true that he is wanting an improved contract then I'd be tempted to just get a good price for him and wave him off.

Id be sad to see him go but there are keepers out there who can easily replace him.

You make him sound like Lee Baxter, I'd like to see what you thought of HIM.

Define a good keeper that we are capable of signing and don't just go and say people like Cech because they are keepers we CAN'T have.

So his kicking isnt terrible and he isnt prone to mistakes? Many United fans let paddy get away with murder while other players have to take the flack.

As i said, Myhill from Hull would be a class replacement. Even the lad Murrey at wolves if he can get over his injury problems.

The figure being bandied around the papers is £2m. At that price I'd take it
But it'd be interesting to see how Kenny's wage compares to other keepers in the Championship

He wont go he loves united and liquid nightclub in rotherham on a friday night aswell lol.
