Bolton boycott

If you were previously planning on going to Bolton but are now definitely not travelling, please sign below and we'll keep a running total of "missing" income for them.

I, for one, am not going.

I can make a lot of noise and complain, for the sum total of fuck all. Or I can keep my money in my pocket and hit them where it actually hurts. If enough people to it, they will take notice... eventually.

I love my club and have followed them from Carlisle to Plymouth. But that love for my club does not mean I have endless cash to line the pockets of footballers and the Football League.

The Football League sells itself throughout the world on its fantastic support at lower league levels. If they allow this level of pricing in the third division, they are complicit in the slow death of the game we all love.

One of the more local games for me too, if I would have gone my Dad would have come over for it too.

Sub £25 yes for first game. Over - not a chance.

Sub total: £90
 
PS: If you feel you cannot boycott, I fully support your decision to go but perhaps some form of protest when you're there could be arranged?
 
If Bolton were smart they'd quickly adjust the pricing now while it's still early and before much more noise is made about it.

There's no doubt that £30 in the third division is totally unacceptable.

Bolton must surely have the highest Category A match prices in L1 - good luck with that.

I've been boycotting United away (last season) because they've been shit and not worth watching.

There was a chance I might have gone to this but not at that price.

Not been an away-game attendee over recent seasons, but have been so fired up Wilder's new brush that I was seriously planning on the Grimsby friendly and the Bolton game.

I'll hang on for Scunny &/or Fleetwood instead. Fuck Bolton.

I'm exactly the same, do virtually all home games but rarely attend away games
But my enthusiasm is high again and I was planning on going to this one.
Not now though, it's a matter of principle. Also for me, league 1 football can rarely ever be worth £30.
 



I'm not paying £30 in the third division for me and ISC junior, so another £60 on the meter please.
 
Me and my family are no longer going, so that's 6x £30 lost. I was actually going to give it a go, after last seasons nightmare of an opening game but for that price? Not a chance.
 
Whilst I fully support lower ticket prices in League 1, I am still prepared to pay £30 to go to Bolton as I'm looking forward to the start of the season and it is one of the more attractive fixtures. I very much doubt that any other clubs will be charging anywhere near that much for tickets so this ticket price will be pretty much a one off, although at £24 for Cat A tickets at BDTBL we are not that much cheaper. Just my point of view on this and not in any way disagreeing with those who are boycotting - we all have a choice.
 
Wouldn't even consider paying £30 for league one footy let their own fans pay off Boltons huge debt, add me if you want. I dont get to away games these days but Bolton is not far away and would be one that I would consider but at £30 no thanks.
 
My Dad hasn`t been away for 28 years, however if he was still going, he would have definitely boycotted this game.

Nothing argumentative about that comment whatsoever. Simply an innocent suggestion as to how the total missed income added up will not be accurate.

It's comments like yours here that start arguments, so there was no need to post it (and no need to reply to this one) if it's not the place as you rightly point out.
 
Myself + 3, so another £120.

This was going to be a great day out for my mate's birthday and a wee personal celebration for (possibly) passing my driving test. That's all down the shitter now, because I'm certainly not paying that much to visit that shithole.

Fuck you, Bolton.
 
At the moment, me and mrs mobile are deciding whether to go to Bolton or to our place in Majorca for that weekend. At the moment, the choice is £95 for four of us to go to Bolton on Saturday afternoon or £120 for the two of us to go Friday to Sunday to Majorca. Sorry kids, I think the sun is winning. (Enjoy the weekend at your grandmothers).

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure that the previous owner Eddie Davies wrote off all his loans to the club when he sold it in March and they're starting with a clean sheet. It seemed a huge thing for him to do, because although he's not on the bread line, the debt was a huge chunk of his personal wealth.
