Yep - replacement buses from Manchester to Bolton and Horwich Parkway. It's put me off going a bit, still undecided.

Trouble is Northern Rail are facing industrial action on Saturday 25 August unless its called off at the last minute.

Brilliant isn't it. Really fucked up what would've been a good away day on the train.

Metro will get you to Bury then cab - but it takes about 45 mins

My daughter lives in Bolton and I can't remember the last time she came to watch the Blades when she wasn't delayed due to buses replacing the trains. Dreadful service.

The Thread Police will probably give the OP a lift...straight to the nick.

Ffs....what a load of bollox, going to be a right ballache int it now with no fucking trains running to bolton..ffs!!

The way I read it was that there are trains to Horwich but a replacement bus service to Manchester Piccadilly afterwards, taking about 1 hour 20. But don't quote me on that.
