A goal got disallowed.
That's it.
Everybody keeps saying we were robbed of 3 points which is bollocks.
The match could have ended 10-1 or 1-10 and every other permutation you can think of.
Nobody knows or ever will know.
Just forget about it and move on.
The facts are we were shite against Newcastle, Man Utd, Leicester and Everton.
We only have ourselves to blame.
You are correct to a degree. But let's not pretend the chances of winning a game are not far greater from the position of 1-0 than that of 0-0. When winning at half time since January 2014, our record has shown this. What is it? 95 matched, 80 wins and 15 draws?
I also don't subscribe to luck evening itself out. If it did then we'd be looking forward to having a ball that didn't cross the line being given as a goal for starters.
I am also less keen on blaming everything on it.
The stats on Man U show 2 things:
1. They get into positions in the penalty area frequently enough to attract challenges which require the refs to make a decision.
2. They get enough of those go their way to suggest some of the softer ones are also being given in their direction.
I suppose the argument there is that you have to buy a ticket.
I can think of the handball vs Southampton and the foul on Basham at Norwich which somehow contrived to give us nothing. Having seen the Porto goal earlier this week where the lad comes back from being in an offside position to score, I'm not convinced how United managed to be given neither the goal for which Lunny did similar nor the penalty.
To the OP it has been an excellent season. Let's hope the lads keep their foot on the gas for one more game. 4-5m would sure be handy in the current climate. That was a hell of a lot of money one season ago for us. As we've been consistently better than Burnley and Arsenal it would be a shame to let them pass us at the last knockings.
