Positives
1. Good movement
2. Creative
3. Good finisher
4. Fans favourite, lifts the crowd

Negatives:
1. he's a moody character, falls out with managers...
2. he's wrong side of 30... injury prone...
3. never stays at a club for long.
4. Goal return was ok, but not greatest...
5. Agent and wage demands...
6. Doesn't track back to defend...
7. Poor stamina, rarely managed 90mins

Conclusion
Best finisher we have had for sometime, and always a threat. But unfortunately that doesn't mean to much as we have had some very poor strikers at the club in recent times. His age, lack of fitness/stamina, injury proneness and attitude must all come into consideration. With so many out of contract players available I feel MR would prefer to spend his budget on a who he feels will stay fit and perhaps give more to the team in terms of work rate, and more importantly goals. 14Goals is a decent return, but ideally we want a 20goal+ man.
Lets face it, he hasn't been as effective as the likes of Shpperley, Hignett, Hendrie or Ward... We have always had a history of players, who battled for the cause. I'm sure Robbo will want to continue with this tradition.

The Maltese Toursit Board is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 30 year old crock who will be palmed off to Bramall Lane where he will play ten games a season and feature in our lovely brochures, for free.

Not exactly the sort of quality we need for a promotion push :/

You are in cloud cuckoo land if you think that we will push for promotion.

This is a good signing IMO. With Sharp looking likely to depart and possibly Henderson too, then this is a good move. Free transfer should compensate for his (aparent) 10k a week.

The guy is a decent player. He has always looked lively when I've seen him and he is dangerous.

I wonder what his role in the team will be. Will he play alongside a target man, or will he be a more mobile and creative forward playing alongside a poacher/fast striker?

Bit harsh. He played 40+ games last season. In that he scored 16 goals (more than any of our strikers).

Mind you he'll have a job doing well for us. Hopefully he is good with his back to goal as the ball comes hurtling towards him with snow on it.

The deal will be tied up early next week, or so I've been told.

Good signing IMO, will probably be the type of 'level' we're looking at next season. Quite happy with this one, be interesting to see how we play him if he does sign.

Left midfield almost certainly!?

I know, he's half decent at his best and his record last season was good, but it's all pretty irrelevant with Blackwell in charge.

I think we'll have him and Cresswell 'running the channels'.

'Boggy' in talks

Reports that Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic has signed for the Blades are premature.

The Maltese International, who lives in Sheffield, is out of contract at Oakwell this summer and is considering his options.

United do confirm that they are currently holding negotiations with Bogdanovich and moving closer to an agreement.

Back track! Back track!

Apparently it's hanging on Hendo's deal to QPR, if that doesn't happen neither will this.

I,ve been told the same because Hendo is signing for QPR next week.

Not sure about Bogdanovic, but regards Henderson I'll drive him to QPR myself :)

And I'll drive Jordan Stewart, I'll turn the meter off for this one...

As for 'Boggy', whats going on at the lane!!!! Obviously I know he scores goals, but don't know much else about him... then look on the OS and he's wearing a chuffing hair band!!!

Whats all this about? Perhaps the talks relate to him getting a short back and sides at Freestylers on Eccy Rd every 4 weeks

If he gets moody then I'm sure Morgs will gee him up....

If I don't post for a while it's because I've gone to pack Hendersons bags!? ;)

This is a no brainer. Sell Henderson for 1.4 (or more) and bring in Boggy for free. Similar wage demands, not a lot of difference in ability.

1.4 what? Pennys?

If QPR pay more than 1mil for him then they are stupid but they do have Warnock in charge who pisses money away on average strikers.

£1.7M for Hendo apparently full amount on appearances.

A decent deal, getting back most of what we paid for him.
But those turning cartwheels at selling a player to the favourites for promotion next year and replacing him with a free from Barnsley ought to pause to have a wee think.

He's a player who hasn't performed as expected over two seasons, missed a lot of last season through suspension or injury and seems to have picked up a few re-occuring niggles.
I also think we are recuperating all the transfer fee money spend on him, pretty certain the original deal with Watford was also dependant on clauses being met. We are also getting a high wage earner of the wage bill.
Doing cartwhels? Not I but it certainly makes sense and I don't think we are considerably weaker for it.

Got to agree with FB here, I know I have said Boggy doesn't really do it for me, but he isn't much worse than Hendo, and it will be a free transfer with lower wages. This fits in exactly with the current Business Plan while also keeping the sponsors happy, everyone's a winner in financial terms with this one!

It makes perfect sense to me.

I'm not Hendersons biggest fan, nor his biggest critic - I can see what he brings to the table if we're playing to a certain style as his hold up play is second to none. I can also appreciate that he misses large parts of the season through petulent sending off's and lengthy injuries from getting battered by centre halfs every other week (the weeks when he's not suspended).

Having Hendo in a Blackwell team is not condusive to pretty football though. Our braindead try-hards generally see him as a safe option to lump up to, negating the need to play from midfield and generally seeing the ball come straight back at them when the bloke gives another silly foul away trying to elbow/head/decapitate the opposing central defender.

I'm not saying that swapping Bogdanovic for Hendo will solve all our problems but at least it may make us think about our approach work a bit more. I think this was proven even last season when we saw inklings of better quality football with him out of the XI.

He's not a player I'll miss but one I won't want to see us playing against. I think he'll do well at QPR.

Does the lad have any pace? We're shaping up to be the slowest team in years...
