God I hope not we have better options already at the club.

Evans, Sharp, Cresswell and Henderson is a decent strikeforce already, I'd rather have Camara on a pay as you play deal. Don't think Bogdanovic is much different or better than what we've got.

I agree. Bogdanovic is a decent player but I wouldnt pick him ahead of any of our current strikers. With Cressy, Ched and Sharp we really dont need him. If you class Wardy as a striker and Hendo stays at the club I think they both provide a better option as well. If we sold a couple of our current forwards then yes, Bogdanovic would be ok to have in the squad; but signing him at the moment would be unnecessary IMO.

I also bet he's demanding rather high wages (just like Mifsud did) and we will not be interested.

He's no better than what we've got and for the rumoured £11K a week he wants, I'd leave well alone.

Hopefully, it's just the old Malta link but then again, McCabe will want a Malteser on the books now Haber has gone, particularly if we're going over there again in the Summer (I'm not by the way :-))

With this and the Mackail-Smith link, I'm wondering if Hendo is on his way.

If we're looking at the likes of Bogdanovic and Mackail-Smith it would suggest that KB is looking for more mobile forwards. Neither of those two are shabby on the deck so that could be the sign of a change of approach (hopefully). Hendo could well be on the way. I like him as a player but if we can get a decent fee for him it makes sense. Ched and Cressy should be our front pairing to start the season, with Billy pressing them for a start!

Maybe he is going for the Warnock loads of strikers approach, I do think both Hendo and sharp will be leaving though. Don't know why just a feeling. Ched and cressy will stay and its fingers crossed on ward.

Possibly DP, that approach never seemed to serve us too badly.

I think Hendo and Camara will go but the rest will stay. You'll be looking at Cresswell, Evans, Sharp. Then maybe Bogdanovic and one other (Foster?). Wardy will probably be considered a make-shift striker as well but KB seems to prefer deploying him wide right as we've seen.

Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic has confirmed he has held talks with Sheffield United about a summer move.

The 29-year-old, whose contract expires on June 30, has admitted that Leeds United and unnamed clubs in Greece and Qatar are also interested.

"If it's a case of me going to Sheffield United, I'd be the happiest man in the world," Bogdanovic told Radio Sheffield.

"I am talking to Sheffield United and will decide in the next few weeks."

However, Bogdanovic, who scored 14 goals this season, is keeping his options open and has not ruled out staying at Oakwell.

"The claim that I refused a new deal with Barnsley is incorrect because I never gave a reply.

"Everything is still a possibility. I can't rule out any options."

Bogdanovic is not expected to make a decision on his future until after he's returned from international duty with Malta.

Hmmm. Not sure about this one, he could do a decent job but I think there's other positions we should be prioritising. Along with tying Monty and Naysmith down to contracts.

Where's this Mackail-Smith rumour?

It doesn't surprise me really, he was good against us at Peterborough and he's a nippy little hard worker with plenty of trickery.

Sharp isn't really an option, surely? He's already said he doesn't expect to ever play for Blackwell again.

Are you lot having a laugh. He'd be a great asset. Every time I've seen him he's looked really lively. He tore us to shreads at Oakwell earlier this season.

If we had a fully fit full choice 5 strikers then I might agree with you. HOWEVER, Sharp will not play under Blackwell and Camara is a goner. That leaves a crocked Henderson, Evans (who has loads of potential but has been very disappointing) and Cresswell. Are yiou jokers seriously telling me you'd be happy with that.

This would not be a key area for me, but I would snap him up straight away. I think centre mid and central defence need strengthening first, but good strikers get you out of this division. This is a no brainer!

I Imagine this means that Henderson will be going to QPR.

Not a bad signing TBH!

Sharp, Cresswell, Henderson and Bogdanovic = 50 Championship league goals last season.

Think we'll probably only have 2 of them come August though.

See Paul Walker missed it on RS, cus it's not massive pigs?

To be fair, I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere online yet (hence the title of this thread).

Confirmed for us means it's made it to the OS :)

Not sure if this is 100% confirmed yet SSN normally very reliable but its not the website yet or our OS as yet.

From a Barnsley forum

Positives
1. Good movement
2. Creative
3. Good finisher
4. Fans favourite, lifts the crowd

Negatives:
1. he's a moody character, falls out with managers...
2. he's wrong side of 30... injury prone...
3. never stays at a club for long.
4. Goal return was ok, but not greatest...
5. Agent and wage demands...
6. Doesn't track back to defend...
7. Poor stamina, rarely managed 90mins

Conclusion
Best finisher we have had for sometime, and always a threat. But unfortunately that doesn't mean to much as we have had some very poor strikers at the club in recent times. His age, lack of fitness/stamina, injury proneness and attitude must all come into consideration. With so many out of contract players available I feel MR would prefer to spend his budget on a who he feels will stay fit and perhaps give more to the team in terms of work rate, and more importantly goals. 14Goals is a decent return, but ideally we want a 20goal+ man.
Lets face it, he hasn't been as effective as the likes of Shpperley, Hignett, Hendrie or Ward... We have always had a history of players, who battled for the cause. I'm sure Robbo will want to continue with this tradition.
