For those of you who have yet to buy a copy of "Ooh-Aah: The Bob Booker Story" the man himself will be in the club superstore before the Leeds United game on February 10 and will be happy to sign and personalise any books bought.

The book has been incredibly well received and has been reviewed brilliantly in The Sheffield Star, on this forum and in When Saturday Comes amongst many others and I really hope that you have a look at it, and decide to buy a copy.

Many thanks.

What time will he be there from and until?

Greville, ask Sir Ooh Aah,if he wants to come to our house for his tea on the Friday before the Leeds game.

My review of the book,it's bloody brilliant 11 out of 10

I'm 2/3's of the way through at the minute, he has just gone back to Brentford and struggled to keep playing. Absolutely loved the chapters on his Blades years, brings back so many memories and games I went to when I was 8 through 12 years old. Thanks to you and Bob, really good read.

Reading this at the moment. It’s a great read. Just got up to where he signs for the Blades. Looking forward to the rest of it!

I’m at exactly the same place. I loved the way that the only reason he got a trial at Brentford was because his Sunday league team’s manager was gardener for one of the Brentford directors - Worzel Gummidge no less.

A Magical Story

Great read from first page to last.Anyone who made a positive lasting impression on the three clubs he served must have done something right. As someone who saw Bob in the majority of his games for Blades both home and away I appreciate his contribution to good times at The Lane.Long live Sir Bob....Great memories.

I'm going to make every effort to get myself fit so that I can make the Leeds match. I was going to buy the book anyway but to get it signed by a true blades legend will make my day. I remember going down to his testamonial at Brentford. What a night that was!!.

Great messages and Bob will be so pleased that those who have got the book are enjoying it.

Please tell your mates about it as there must be so many more Blades who would enjoy reading it. Any review on Amazon would also be appreciated if you can spare 5 minutes. The link is below.

Cheers.

BTW are you still interested in John Egan or is that old news?

Just to remind all Blades that Sir Bob - OOH AAH - will be in the club superstore from about 10.30am on Saturday before the Leeds game so please come and meet him as he loves chatting to you all.

Ideally he and I would be grateful if you would consider buying a copy of his book which some of you have read and really enjoyed. it is on sale in the Superstore and I hope that some of you buy it and get it signed on Saturday.

Many thanks.

I’m currently reading this and am around halfway through. Good purchase by brownie Blade for Christmas.

I didn’t actually remember Bob leaving that swiftly from the Blades although I do recall him being paraded before the Pig game.

Brought back some cracking memories of 88-90 and back to back promotions also the wonderful run in 90-91 to propel us to safety culminating in Bob heading in the winner.

When the pundits and Sky talk of great escapes and teams being bottom at Christmas never escaping the drop we are never mentioned and arguably we pulled off the greatest of them all.

Any reviews on Amazon really welcomed too. Cheers. The book has sold pretty well in Sheffield so far - thank you, but I am sure that there are lots more Blades who would like to read about what it was really like to play for Harry Bassett, life in Sheffield in the late 80s and early 90s and the precarious nature of a footballer's life and how he suffered from loneliness and insecurity and finally prevailed and became a cult hero.

Gutted I'm not at the game tomorrow. A signed copy would have made a nice little birthday present for my dad.

No problem. If you can’t get a mate to go in and buy you a copy tomorrow then call Lisa Crosland in the club shop today and order a signed copy and Bob will sign it for you tomorrow.

I picked up a copy at the hull game earlier in the season and got it signed by the man himself. He took a genuine interest in each person as he made his way through the signing. What an impressive guy!

Might come down and get one.

Reading Hodgy's book at present and still not finished Edwards. I'm a nightmare these days at reading half a book then not picking it up for a while and then starting another.

How much are the club shop kicking it out At?

It's £12.99 for nearly 400 pages! Go on - it's worth it!!

Very reasonable. Sold me. I've a lot of time for Bob anyway and I've always said his story is quite unique and not something you expect to see replicated in the modern game.

Jamie Vardy gets a mention but can you imagine today a player turned 30 who's never played above League 1 and considering retirement, who 2 years later is a cult hero for a Premiership team.

Cheers. Let me know what you think of it and I really hope you enjoy the book. Bob is a true one off and a fantastic man.
