Downloaded on Kindle and started reading it. So far a good read.

I was running a training course a few years ago (in Hull) and Bob's ex missus was on it. We did the usual icebreakers and intro's when Christine introduced herself I couldn't help myself and burst into chorus of Ooh aagh Bob Booker! Nobody else in the room had any idea what was going on!

She was back living and working in Watford, but told me how much they loved thier time in Sheffield.

Having downloaded it, he might have a problem signing mine. Can I have a digitally signed email please?

I saw Bob Booker play for us. It was a grim period in our history. He's one of these players that became a cult hero - and not because he was a good footballer either. I don't know how that works, maybe the book will tell us?

Thanks Greville.

Bob Booker joined us in the 3rd tier, played a part in 2 successive promotions and a sustained period in the top flight. Grim beginnings maybe, but if you consider what followed to be grim, then I suggest a new club, or indeed, sport.

To be honest, mate, if you don't already know how that works, there's no point in buying the book.

I've always seen the team of that era as greater than the sum of it's parts. No player for me encapsulated that more than Bob Booker. By no means the greatest or most talented player ever to pull on a Blades shirt. But nonetheless, of his time and deserving of respect for the effort he put in.

Cheers Bob, and I really hope the book does well.

There is a lot in there about his initial problems and his struggle to cope with living away from Christine and Bruno in a strange city and how he got to grips with the expectations of playing for a big club and also recovering form and fitness and becoming a part of the community.

I for one would like another of these Bob Booker grim periods, successive promotions, top flight football,it was appalling what we had to put up with back then

He's mates with Brian the Blade?!!?!

Bob Booker is the sort of player who no longer really exists now, the utility player, back when you could only have one sub on the bench a player like Booker could come on and play Centre back, Full back, Center Midfield or striker and do a decent job in any of the roles.

Apart from striker, Bash isn't far off. Looks like he could play in goal too

Just wondered if anyone has read this yet - and - more importantly is there a decent display of it in the club shop?

I'm hoping for a copy for my birthday (early Sept). I'm sure the club shop will have a good display. Not been in there in a while but it's the sort of thing they would do.

I've just finished it (literally, five minutes ago). Very good! Obviously the SUFC chapters were the most interesting to me, but the rest was good too. There were quite a few anecdotes that I'd not heard before and hearing all the other stories from Sir Bob's perspective was great. Quite a lot of mentions about how great Wilder (and his family) were in helping Bob and other new signings to fit in. Happy memories!

I've read it but got it online from amazon. Will do a proper review on here in a few days. Really enjoyed it. Lots of good details and research. No idea he knew and played with Bradley Walsh! Some of memories from United days were really uplifting. A great time to be a Blade!

Really enjoyed it. A must read for any Blade especially those lucky enough to be part of the Bob Booker era.

Glad some of you have enjoyed the book. If someone could post a full review on here and maybe Amazon too I would be really grateful. There will be two book signings at the club coming up as well as maybe an event in town too. We had a book sign g at Brentford last Saturday and Bob was well received , as always. Many thanks.
