(Saturday 3rd March, 15:00 kick off)

The fact the club are helping us with this is promising. It helps validate the idea and shows there's good potential. It should be an extra incentive for everyone who supports it to make the effort and help get it going. It's in our hands now, we have to justify the club's backing. I want to see at least 50 of us up there for this game.
If we can get good numbers up there for this game and hopefully others it could help increase demand and strengthen the case for ST availability in that area next season.

This is the best opportunity yet. It's different to the others. We now have certainty that this area will remain available for us, right up until the day of the game. No obstacles or excuses.

All you have to do is ask to be in the "vocal section" or similar, and they'll know where to put you. Or just ask for specific seats. These are...

Rows S,T,U,V - seats 115-125 and row W seats 109-118.

Red area = target area. These seats WILL be available if you ask for them.
It's section U3 here if you want to pick your seats... https://www.sufc.talent-sport.co.uk...&type=H&productsubtype=&productIsHomeAsAway=N
Season tickets can be moved for individual games, by phone (0114 253 7200) or at the ticket office.

There'll be a small flag to mark the area. Just move into any space around here if you have tickets elsewhere on BLUT.

Please vote in the poll if you'll be there.

(+1 or more = someone else attending with you)

Any further details will be posted in bold on this thread, and on the Twitter page... https://twitter.com/BLUT_Blades

And again...

  • Our aim is to improve the atmosphere at home games by establishing a vocal support area in the BLUT.
  • This is with a view to moving to the area on a season ticket basis long term.
  • It could ultimately play a key role in improving the atmosphere on G and H block on the South Stand.
  • Commitment is needed. If people don't make the effort, nothing will happen, and nothing will change.

Good luck Ricky, it’ll be one of those games where most of the crowd are sat in their hands expecting us to turn up and win 3-0 and if we do many will moan it wasn’t four. A good vocal element will be heard and hopefully encourage others.

Sadly I’m in corporate hospitality as part of my sponsoring a player’s shirt.

I hope you have success with this, though as a BOB (you know what I mean!), my support is theoretical rather than practical.
I was interested to see the club is co-operating. Perhaps if your BLUT plans don't work out, they might be willing to show flexibility in other ways. Would it be worth seeing if you could get the back 10 rows, say, of the Kop made open-access for a trial period? What I mean by that is that you could buy a season ticket or Matchday ticket for those rows, and then sit (stand) where you want in those rows - so you could be with your mates, like-minded people, get the different groups of singers together, etc. The front of the Kop would still be designated seats, for those who prefer to sit most of the time, kids, oldies, small people, etc. Those buying the back rows would be likely to stand rather more. The freedom to move around would have to come with responsibility not to be idiotic - it would be harder to identify individuals, so a couple of flares and the authorities would no doubt call it a day. Just a thought, trying to bring together what you are trying to do, and some of the grumbles about standing in a different thread.

It was bloody empty up there tonight! Typical. Would've been a decent game for it. That said, Villa fans were fairly loud.

It was just yet another game that reinforced my belief that an organised vocal area is needed. I hope anyone else disappointed with the atmosphere can contribute and help get this idea going.

Going to keep bumping this one...

If any of you on here know anybody who might be interested in this, let them know about it.

Tagging the others who voted in the poll for the QPR game. Just making sure you know plans for that one are cancelled and we're just focusing on Burton instead.

Not sure if I'm going to be at this game, but if I am I'll probably move

The noise Wolves made yesterday was largely due to being on a steep stand with good acoustics.

At Bramall Lane we can only have that on the BLUT.

I think it was largely due to the fact they were playing great football and about to go 11 points clear at the top of the Championship, but get your point :)

Obviously, but if that was us at the top of the league we'd get nowhere near replicating it unfortunately.

Fair point, although when ALL of BDTBL is in full voice I think we're as loud as any ground I've been to (not been to Wolves before) The problem for me is that collectively, we don't seem to be 'up for it' for sustained periods or often enough when the players need a lift.
I don't want to open up the old, 'do players lift the fans or do fans lift the players?' debate but things ain't what they used to be years ago when fans could be fans and not part of this modern-day cash-fuelled merry-go-round. Saying that, I don't think it would take much to achieve your (our) aim either.
I've been following your efforts closely by the way and have been really impressed by your vision and tenacity.
I hope for your benefit and that of us all, you can make it a success.
For personal reasons I haven't made the 'test' games, but would love to be involved and will do my best to support your future endeavours.

It certainly shouldn't take much to achieve the aim for individual games. Long term it depends on ST availability.

If we can't get a half decent turnout for Burton that'll probably be it until next season. I'll have to consider whether to continue with it. It would be a real shame to give up because we need something to change at BL and it's a good opportunity.

So again, anyone who supports this, please make the effort for this game if you can. It's on a plate for us now.

Bumping this. Won’t be in the UK, but fully support the idea. Have you tried sharing it on any of the Facebook pages? Lots of infighting on them, but also lots of members.

Cheers. Yep, I'll post on VIP Blades and maybe one or two other groups. Will also try to publicise it further on Twitter.

If anybody else has any ideas how to publicise it, or any angle from which to convince people, post them here.

I've BLUT Bladed the fuck out of it on VIP Blades and Sheffield United Games Live now so that should help.

Had no idea that was you!

Thanks for this. I've just tagged you in the post on there now.

Now that the club is on board surely the best vehicle for publicity would be SUFC official social media? I might even have a word with my mate Danny04..

Good luck with that, I’m the Blades opposition apparently

It was good to see South Stand H block stood up and making a bit of noise yesterday. That gives us some hope.

I've sent a direct message to all the Twitter followers. I can't do a great deal more. And I shouldn't have to.

So let's see how many are actually willing to do something to improve our support.

If you ask Foxy nicely he might make it a sticky in the week leading up to the game.

If not, let's just keep bumping the fuck out of the fucker

If all the people wining about a rubbish atmosphere turn up, and shout as widely and loudly as they have been on't wireless and on line, the you should be in for the best atmosphere ever up there Ricky.

Anyone who thinks our support is shit can't complain about it if they don't bother to make the effort with this. If we get a decent group up there then it will improve our support significantly. Simple as that. So anyone who's bothered, here's your chance on a plate.

It boils down to actions ultimately. Not votes, not likes, not words. Time for people to turn up.

If a fraction of those who 'support' it make an effort it'll succeed. There's no room for a "wait for others to get it going before I join in" mentality. There's no secret Blade army who'll do all the hard work for everybody else...

If it fails this time I'll probably stop bothering. It's had more than enough publicity and if there's no appetite for it now then there never will be.

You mean the “the atmosphere isn’t great....I sit on the family stand” merchants.

Don’t like it, do something about it. That’s the idea of what Ricky is doing.

Be great if the club could put something official out about it. Does Rooks still frequent these parts and is he in a position to get the club to assist any further?
