No doubt you've all seen the other BLUT thread by now. In short, it's about getting a group of Blades up there to help improve our vocal support and home atmosphere. The poll response indicates that over 150 are up for it. If those of you who voted are serious about this, then it should be a success. So please stay true to your word.

The Bristol City game on 8th December is going to be the first attempt. There's more than enough time for everybody to sort things out. Tickets will go on sale on next week (starting 6th Nov) at latest, hopefully sooner.

This is the area we're targeting. I want to see every available seat taken up by us.

So now it's simple. If you have a season ticket, move it to the highlighted area of the BLUT for this game - 'Gangway E, as far back as possible' - this will ensure we fill it from the back row down.
This can be done over the phone or at the ticket office. If moving from the Kop, it's £2. From anywhere else, it's free. If you don't have a ST simply buy a ticket in the specified area.
Try to do this as early as possible. Don't leave it until the week of the game.

If you want to choose specific seats, here's the link. Click on the game when it's available, our targeted area is in 'U3'.

If you want to do this, stay within the back 3 or 4 rows, until we know we have the numbers to fill more.
Ideally the chant starters will go nearer the back - it works better that way.

Unofficial unreserved seating amongst ourselves is an option but to start with we'll just go to the seat on our ticket.

This is a great opportunity for us and it's important that the first attempt is successful, so let's make it work. A good showing should see it develop more naturally.

Please vote in the poll.

I'll keep this thread updated with all the details, as I will the Twitter page... https://twitter.com/BLUT_Blades

I'll put the key points here just to reaffirm what this is all about:

  • Our primary objective is to improve the atmosphere at home games and provide vocal support from the BLUT.
  • We want to do this with a view to establishing a permanent base for vocal home support in this area of the ground.
  • We will gather just right of centre, from the back row (W) downwards. Gangway E, seats 104 to 125.
  • The aim is to do this for between 5 to 8 home games this season.
  • This would provide another focal point for home support and finally make proper use of the Upper Tier.
  • We won't 'misbehave'. Inside or outside the ground. This is very important. Any trouble would bring consequences long term.
  • COMMITMENT - this is the key. A bit of effort this season could open up good long term possibilities.

If somehow the targeted area (back 9 rows) of Gangway E is not enough then move to the block to the right - Gangway F, back row downwards, as close to Gangway E as possible.

I wholeheartedly support this initiative. It’s a great idea and very well done for your efforts to put it into practice. Palace have shown how an atmosphere can be created by a relatively low number of fervently vocal fans if you purremclosetagetherangerremsingin.

I have a season ticket sitting with the very few mates I still have left so I will be staying put because they’ll move away if I give them the slightest opportunity. Also I’m not getting any younger and need to sit down with my blanket and flask close by, so none of the ultra stuff I’m afraid.

I’m with you in spirit, though.

Also worth noting that this part of the ground is the 'Redbrik Upper' in ticket office language. So it's probably easiest just to refer to it as that when sorting your tickets.

Another note, the available seats on the back row (W) are actually numbers 104 - 118. Every other row is 104 - 125 as stated.

Won't be there but good luck. Next home game for me is Sunderland... Will be in the corner or BLUT.

Could be my wife's first ever game of football too

good idea I'm in Sheffield for this game but sadly arranged something else for the Friday and was going to the game Saturday. Thanks again sky.

I sit in the "new" corner, close to the proposed area. Really good idea as the corner feeds off the ss chants and occasionally vice versa. Having another section close by should really lift the atmosphere.

Great idea and really like the way you've gone about this.

Will they be counted in the attendance figures??????????????

We need to get safestanding implemented somewhere in the ground - is this something we could just simply ask United to think about doing?

I've voted yes, but not for me, but for our Jack. At my age I need to be seated, Friday night had a bad effect on my poor knees. :)

United don't have much of a say. The pen-pushing wankers of the Safety Advisory Group which is basically that dream-team of Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police are in charge of that.

When you have all on to try and insisit they don't close half our capacity when we play a team who will bring more than 37 fans, I think pushing them for a view on safe standing might not be too wise.

"Yes you can have safe standing.
One on John St, One in the South Stand, Two on the Kop but at opposite sides and one in the BLLT.
None in the BLUT as it is too high and they might fall"

why is it called safe standing if its not safe

I'm just saying that they'll put every possible obstacle in the way before we get to that.
We know it's all bollocks but they'll resist any attempt to re-introduce standing because of what happened at the Rustbucket.

Unfortunately I'm out.

Sky changing the date to Friday means it clashes with a gig I bought a ticket for months ago.

Fucking turds.

Well done Ricky for organising this. Personally can’t make the Bristol game, but if it’s successful then of course we should try again for the Sunderland game on Boxing Day, and I will be there +2 or 3

don't seats just take up more space and cause more of an obstruction??

You'll find the rake on all stands but the Kop is prohibitive.

We were also told that for safety, if standing was implemented on the Kop, the capacity would have to be reduced. Although the rail seating takes up less space, you have to allow more square footage per person for safety.

I've been going up in the Lane Upper this season, but can't get midweek. So with it being Friday I'm struggling...I'm at the age where I join in where I can,but will be moving closer to that area in order to do that.
Hope people give it a go and get behind it though...good luck.

Looks like incompetent cunt Jurgen has killed off the idea Ricky

That's very disappointing but the BLUT should still be on sale for the Bristol City game. No reason whatsoever why not based on other games so far this season.
