Too early to say imo and he has been thrown back in earlier than anyone wanted, due to necessity.

For what it's worth I think he has been functional but unspectacular.

Which is exactly what he was before. Let’s not kid ourselves that he hasn’t been greatly overrated by a lot of our fans and his father in law. He’s decent, but when people are saying things like “future England captain” and “next Steven Gerrard” they need a reality check.

As said elsewhere, he’s another that’s been improving quite consistently and substantially during his time out injured.

The medical staff will be on top of any minutes he plays.If hes playing through pain it will be expected or they would not play him that would be stupid.

Its the nature of a Blade to seemingly want to find things to be miserable about and punish ourselves with. Meanwhile there are countless examples of players who came back from ACLs and a year out to have incredible careers (Shearer, RVN, Del Piero and most relevantly Roy Keane). Give him time and he'll be reight.
