Webbo doesn't like any links on there, he has always been pathetic, maybe it was seen as spamming but I really don't see why he has a problem with it.

It might just have been my School but every lad called "Webbo", we used to call "fat Ginger egomaniac". Did anybody else find that?

It's hardly spamming when the link is posted by someone with no connection whatsoever to the site, nor do they stand to gain anything by spreading the word.

Discussing the thing is hardly spamming either, people aren't even allowed to talk about the original topic, nor continue posting in it.

It was the discussion and linking to, public information, at a public event, hosted by the club, regarding club issues.... I fail to see why it's deemed irrelevant and flagged for removal really.

There are some things in life that are constants, for instance SF and his alcohol addictions, SEB with his great insight and wit(into what we dare not ask) BB with his all seeing powers, Moi with my thoughfulness and caring attitude, Keenzy with his little pecadillos, I could go on, but finally BU and their small petty mindedness.

In this instance McCabe can't have it both ways......If he wants the forums to be talking facts he needs to let the Nobbo know that something like this actually shows the club/chairman in a good light.

Perhaps one day they will understand.

That forum has always been a joke (at least since it was integrated into the main site). 90% of the drivel on there is bigger blade infighting. Anyone with a sensible/moderate view is either drowned out in the noise or hounded out of the place.

But yeah, it has been run terribly. Why have they shut down new sign ups? If ever a forum needed new blood it is that one. Having that forum as our official forum reflects badly on the club.

Oh and the forum software they use to run the place is an absolute joke. Even 10 years ago it was fairly shitty but in this day and age to be using something so limited is disgraceful for a professional website.

I know it wasn't spamming, but he has and always will delete any links anyone puts up on there, including you tube, it's a stupid rule they have got going on over there.

I'm glad I am still banned :)

Totally agree with this, they need a totally overhaul, but if United cant be bothered then so be it.

How long would i last after posting 1 man 1 screwdriver????

Who needs BU anyway!!! We got here and its 10,000,000 times better.

I joined BU ages ago, but found it so frustrating to use that I never went back. Back at the start of 2006 I joined BladesBees and its been great to chat about the club we all love. This site has taken it on as its not just expats and exiles, a lot you guys put a lot of time and effort into getting the unofficial info out to the rest of us. Cheers for that

The transcript of the Q&A was great as I wasn't able to attend myself.

I'm not saying that McCabe's perfect, but he speaks openly and following the sale of the Kyles it took some balls to take the stage. Reading his openess has put my mind at rest a little, but also raised a few other questions... And I havent even finished reading the full transcript yet.

I've noticed in the last couple of seasons that the OS has also started to become a bit more rose tinted, PR and media stunts galore. Which's great if that was the only source, but its bound to fail when there are so many other sources of info and media chucking info out there. The club can also expose itself badly in these cases.

McCabe touched on the fact that the club can never control the media, just communicate better to protect.

The club would do well if they appreciated sometimes their good intentions and actions to protect the club can be seen as damaging to the club by those on the outside looking in.

This site has shown itself to be head and shoulders above the others.

It's run like a professional site.
It's got a friendly vibe, unlike others where if you stray even slightly off-topic you get shot down like a Messerschmidt over Kent.
It's got members who can see the funny side in pretty much everything.
It's got the young, the old, the sensible and the downright weird.

What more do you need?

I'm kinda glad that BU is so bloody awful, if it wasn't for that I would never have gone looking for another forum and found this one. Which I am in total agreement with shorhamview about.

Continued thanks for the comments guys... but it just highlights to be how ridiculous a policy there is.

The whole point of the internet is that its made up of a connection of links which take you to other places where you can learn new things. You don't create a thriving community by ring fencing people in... you create a barren ghetto.

The club need to realise that they need to communicate properly, and they need to realise that the acts of some of the agents connected with the club reflect badly on the club.

I know it's a pain in the arse, and you shouldn't have to explain yourselves again and again but... I'd be very grateful if those who have had a bad experience email me with a quick run down of the facts, how it made them feel and how it could have been better handled. Send them to [email protected].

I can't really explain why I need them, but I can tell you, the developments are interesting ;)

Sometimes people under threat, the ones who feel vunerable feel threatened by opening up.

Is that how United feel?

In my experience, and I do have experience in this field although i'd never claim to know it all, communication is vital in this age and for United to put it the hands of commercial agents is wrong and should be put right as soon as possible.

Someone in the club needs to wise up or at least talk to some who understand.

:)

What is bladesunited? Is it actually meant to be a forum? or just a money making scheme to fleece the fans who want to air their opinion. Why would anyone want to pay as its such a ball ache to read and browse the site.

Its crap that we have such a shite official forum!
