Evening all,

There are some hardy souls out there who are still listening to these, so here is another one with old Roygbiv lamenting a woeful defeat, as well as drawing worrying parallels between Chris Wilder's United and Donald Trump's presidency. Thank you, as always, for your time.

And get it on Apple and Spotify.

Regardless of the performance and the associated 'woe is me' bedwetting on the forum, I still enjoyed your pod.
Some good points about Ramsdale and the stupid online abuse. As you say, it worked well with George Long, didn't it?

Thanks lads.

The parallels to Blair’s demise speculated in the pod couldn’t be closer on the calendar. Blair resigned on 10 May 2007 – not even a week had passed before Neil Warnock was out of a job.

Similarly, Nick Clegg was booted out of government following the 7 May 2015 election, foreshadowing the booting out of Nigel Clough at the end of the very same month.

Good podcast.

Any time you need add some some grist to your mill - for example on our mercurial midfield ball-pinger, our ailing LCB or our underperforming shot stopper, I remain at the ready.

Your comments on now seeing what others were seeing is pretty much spot on.

I'll admit, I've not been as bothered while we've been getting smashed. Been cycling to work instead of bussing it too which means I don't listen do podcasts anymore.

Ill get back on it at some point tho

Such a smart, measured, well judged and entertaining pod, as always. And a proper (social media) antidote to the vile social media stuff you rightly call out.

It‘s not the best times we’ve had as Blades, of late, but there‘s no better place to ride it out than what you guys are doing. (Other than here, obvs).

More power to yer collective elbow. 👍

I echo ShockingBadBuy's comments. I couldn't have put it better.

On this week's pod. I agree someone normally drops like a stone towards the end of the season but i wonder if other teams will feel any great pressure this season if it transpires that the bottom three looks sorted. Maybe a lack of nerves in others won't see the usual stone dropper but i hope i'm wrong.

Thanks as always for the pods lads.

Think back 5 years ago under 'Geese man' and we might well have been having similar downbeat pods, but about a potential relegation from L1.

Yes things are shit at the moment, but all things are relative.

Absolutely. Taken as a given in this house. We stuck it out then, and we'll stick it out now.

Great pod again, measured and balanced as always.

Totally agree with you in the first minute of the show Ben when you wanted to switch it off. The last 45 minutes I was counting down time until the final whistle.

I was on the phone to Public Health England about a covid outbreak at work, they scored their 3rd and 4th and I had to apologise to the nice lady on the phone twice for swearing 😂

I am becoming increasingly convinced that Richard Sutcliffe at 'The Athletic' listens to Bladespod, has a mosey round the forum and then puts an article together based on what he's heard and read. Today's article borrows Ben and Roy's thoughts in Tuesday's podcast not far off word-for-word at one stage.

Kudos.

Just so Beans and Roygbiv don’t get any ideas, I’m boycotting if you start charging for the pod (although I’d happily donate to running costs every once in a while) 😉

He won't be doing it again anyway.

He died today.
