Seeing as we've had our first win of the season, thought it was a good time to record the first podcast of the season...

Breaking down the win at QPR, and covering several subjects including:

- steps in the right direction, performance-wise (02:00)
- improved defending (06:40)
- game management (13:45)
- player ratings (25:00)
- new signing Oliver Norwood, and what to expect from him (39:45).

Cheers as always for listening - to be clear, I wasn't waiting for the first win to do one of these, just wanted to record one that didn't date immediately as it would've done last week! Hope you enjoy, let me know any feedback (I'll try and add it to YouTube later too for those who can't access Apple Podcasts / SoundCloud):

I don’t have one yet but will get one set up ASAP.

can someone buy jay a new microphone please

Yeah he just joins me on Skype as we don’t live close to each other - he could probably do with a better headset though! At least I finally got my microphone working properly I suppose...

Would it be possible for you to record both your own audio tracks in audacity and then mix them that way?

EDIT: just to clarify I'm not really complaining, I love the podcast but just want to help take it to the next level :)

Superb yet again guys. I really enjoy your podcasts . Really looking forward to listening to future podcasts through the season. Going to pop over to your website now and give it a read! Thanks for making the time and effort to do this.

Yeah, we should try that actually - cheers.

No problem! To be honest I love doing them, keeps me involved in the Blades as much as possible and this one wasn't too time-consuming to create/edit together, which is good for the day job ;)

Just listened and superb again as usual.

Only came back to win one game from behind last season! Wow, a frigthening stat.

I'm not sure about Jay's microphone but it might help if he took the sack off his head?

Really good podcast, unfortunately I only came into it quite late on last season but I’ll certainly be looking out from now. Keep up the good work!

Yes the "1 win from behind" thing surprised me - I knew we'd been pretty rubbish at turning games round but just a single win (against a crap Hull team, as well) was a bit of a shock. In fact I've just had to go and check it again to make 100% sure it was accurate!

Enjoyable listen as usual, many thanks.

I see that the realisation that Stevens is not as good as the stats suggest (a favourite theme of mine) seems to be dawning....

Splitting hairs here, but it was more that we were surprised that Stevens' attacking stats last season were so high (ie, he was one of the best chance-creators out of all LWB/LBs in the league behind Barry Douglas at Wolves). We tend to remember the ones he "wastes", although nobody lands every cross on their target's forehead. FWIW I think he's a fine, decent-enough LWB at this level who's having a mediocre start to the season. Competition / upgrade would be nice, though :)
