Blades wages revealed - who is our biggest earner?

If he has a stellar World Cup, we'll be quids in

Possibly. Either way, I don't see Ndiaye rushing into signing anything with us.
He'll wait until the Summer when the picture becomes clearer. As I've said before, the power shifts towards him and his agent the longer they let his current deal run down.

Seems about right. Most decent players in the Championship are on around 20k a week.

A friend of mine sent me a link to the ‘Salary Sport’ website which lists the wages English football teams supposedly pay their players.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts as to how accurate you think these figures are. From a Blades perspective, if true, some of them are eyewatering.

Some takeaways:
- Our highest earner is Ciaran Clark on 42K per week

- In contrast, N’Diaye is our lowest 1st team player on 4K per week. Surely not?

- Anel on 18K looks good value compared to Berge & Brewster on 30K +

Illi needs a new contract asap

Brewster is going to cost us over £30 million then, over his 5 year contract. That's currently about £8 million per goal.
There's no doubt he's going to go down as our biggest waste of money ever.

I'm sure PH said that we'd opened discussions with Ndiaye on a new contract a couple of months ago. £4k sound right for a player who had never played men's football.

£20K for Robsinson but we signed him on a free in the EPL. He'd have been on decent wedge at Forest, who pay the tea lady £15k.

Those figures look fairly realistic.

Quite literally a load of bollocks. If their is no proper journalistic or legal source then the contents of a contract are not going to be found on a website most likely ran by techy teens seeking ad revenue pocket change to spend on cock rings, paper weights and whatever else the youth are into nowadays.

Yet some in here know the various performance clauses that are in the contracts. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Ndiaye and Norrington-Davies certainly deserve a boost in wages.
We should have been in discussions with both when they became full internationals. As others have said, any contract negotiations with Ndiaye will be a lot more difficult now that they would have been 6-12 months ago and it could ultimately cost us a lot of money

Agree, creative contracts with loads of performance related add-ons really complicate the picture regards player wages.

It’s later transpired that some of the transfer fees we supposed to have paid are also massively variable dependent on performance.

Performance clauses seem to be the way forward regards salaries and transfer fees.

Put enough zeros in the deal, he'll sign.
But we're not going to offer him 100k plus per week are we.
The only strategy that might work is to offer him a 4 or 5 year contract with immediate parity with our current biggest earners.
Then a big increase if we go up and a release clause of say 40 million.

It could (should ! ) also cost a lot of money for another club to eventually buy him.

Adam Davies paid more than double Fodderingham and McAtee paid more than Doyle despite both being from Man City and Doyle being further ahead in his development? Do people actually believe these websites?
Yes they do & then they moan about it based on absolute fiction

At the risk of being a party pooper, that website is probably created by someone sit in their mum's spare room and updated between wanks and pot noodles.

No way on God's green earth is any of that accurate. If for no other reason, these days footballers contracts include so many clauses, bonuses, kickers, multipliers, I bet most of them don't know what their basic wage is...

However, gives the casual fan something to get excited about.

I treat these sort of websites with as much contempt as I do for the Sheffield Star, any stupid journo can make a guess on how much players get paid or recycle twitter and Facebook rumours.

I've never understood how people can claim to know the salaries of footballers. Surely this is all highly confidential information (as it should be), but that list of salaries probably isn't too far off IMO. Hopefully a large wage increase and certain agreements if we don't get promoted, will encourage Illy to sign a new contract.
I worked in a bank, not necessarily the actual branch, but where the accounts of various footballers were held. It wasn't difficult to find these accounts and there in front of you was the information. Admittedly bonuses etc skewed the payments but it was pretty simple to get an average from previous payments. Technically this is confidential, but back then there was no trail as to who had accessed an individuals account

Going back a few years, maybe around 2004, my Dad had some dealings with someone who was on the United board at the time, and he'd asked him to get me a signed programme or something. Anyway, when I received it, it had a sheet of paper in it with the salaries of all the squad including Warnock, appearance fees, goal bonuses the lot!

From memory I think Jags was the highest paid player at the time, but Warnock was paid more than any of the players, just under £500k per year I think. Probably still got it in amongst all the programmes in my parents loft somewhere

There's a few regular posters on here not passing comment on this thread..

Let's name the ones who might not be able to comment for obvious reasons.. I'll start

Maurice Maurice. 🤣

If it weren't for websites I wouldn't know the Earth is flat or that freemasons are lizards. Don't knock websites.

No one would dream of suggesting £100k - but the lads on 4k ffs. Let's show some positive initiative, or we run the risk of neglect re his future as a united player.
