Am I the only person who is bothered by people's hilarious nicknames?

Wendy, Florist, Manure, Notlob etc - they're awful, in terms of an insult: it's about as cutting as calling somebody a poo-head.

I can't be the only one who cringes when I read them?

Regards the other lot, I always refer to em as 'Wednesday bastards'. Every time. 'See him ovva theer? Eeza Wednesday bastard.'

'Dirties' - not bothered.
'Florest' - just don't.
'Dingles' - as above.

Wednesday bastards.

Notlob is amusing. Because I'm immature I can still speak this weird backward language I learnt as a kid so 'notlob' isn't new to me

I agree with that. "Notlob" isn't a nickname as such - it is spelling words backwards, something we used to do as children for fun, and for that reason I like it. I was on the train coming back from Nodnol the other day, drinking a pint of regal, and thinking about this very emas thing.

Not for the first time in my life I concur with Ainsley Harriot. Depends on the club and 'insult'.

I cringe at Wet Spam and I cringe hard for others at Blunts.

Notlob has its origins in Monty Pythons dead parrot sketch, so it's not really derogatory, just a bit juvenile for people of a certain age.

Coincidentally, I'm writing this on Notlob station, people are probably wondering why I'm giggling :-)

Sat in subway laughing audibaly. Much to the bemusement of the staff

It really riled my pork-supporting mate, when I called Wendy a dirty whore.

It's immature, but it's also football banter and I'll keep on doing it, because it works as an effective retort when he tries to be disparaging to the Blades.

Wet Spam is particularly cringeworthy.

And there's no genuine "rivalry" with Bolton. None at all.

Some of them make me cringe, others make me wonder why people bother and others are funny... I'm an inconsistent hypocrite.
